Go watch the series then!

http://www.vizanime.com/ great site; gonna start watching death note after I am done with inuyasha.

Update on the Berserk anime

It’s gonna be multiple movies, they will do the whole manga and the first movie should be out mid 2011
was wondering wtf they were doing, saw those teaser trailer things for it months/years? ago.

I’ve started watching Black Lagoon and it’s insanely good.

I have shitload to watch here, Evangelion movies, Guren Laggan Movies, Welcome to NHK, I’m curious to see Haruhi Suzumiya to see what the fuss is all about and i admit i even downloaded the Magical Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha movie in fullhd.

Going to dive into this thread, starting at the beginning. I have a pretty limited knowledge of anime (which I hope to change), but have enjoyed what I’ve seen.

Looking forward to learning what’s the best of the best, and what I should really be watching.

Any genre you prefer? that way we can give you some cool recommendations.

Yu Yu Hakusho, The DragonBall series(excluding GT), and Hajime No Ippo

Were the only ones I really got into but man I loooooooved yu yu.

Edit: Forgot samurai champloo

Ghost in the Shell and Gundam are the favorites amongst the very small number that I’ve seen.

From what I’ve read thus far it looks like I’ll definitely be watching Berserk, and maybe the series that was mentioned as being slightly similar but with guns.

Samurai 7
godanar
blood+
Eureka 7
I agree with Samurai 7 and Eureka 7. Never saw Godanar. Blood+ sucked donkey balls. The source material “Blood: The Last Vampire” was great, but Blood+ made me want to stab out my eyeballs with an icepick. The animation was fine, the fight scenes were mediocre, and the dialoque was horrible.

Example:
Kai: “Saya, I want you to be happy.”
Saya: “I want you to be happy too.”
Kai: “So we both want to be happy?”
Saya: “Happy?”
Retardedly long pause
Kai: “Saya, we should be happy together.”

Every episode is like that. If someone cut out all the stupid, meaningless conversations the whole series would be about 5 episodes long.

Eureka 7, Sword of the Stranger (pictured here), Noein, Mushishi, Casshern Sins, Gintama, and yeah, One Piece.
+1 recommendation for Sword of the Stranger.

If your looking to kill an hour or two with an animated film it would tough to beat Sword of the Stranger. The fight scenes are on par with Ninja Scroll if not better.

I’m lookin for something new to watch.

Personally my favorites have been
DBZ, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist. Anything that’d fall along those lines? Something more along Bleach/FMA more so then DBZ. Any suggestions?
Naruto pretty much follows the DBZ/Bleach/Shonen Jump formula.

Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, Sword of the Stranger, Ninja Scroll, and Afro Samurai all have some swanky sword fight scenes. Plus the protagonists don’t stop in the middle of a fight to discuss their feeling and reasons for fighting.

You might like Heat Guy J and Last Exile. One can never go wrong with Ghost in the Shell (movies or animated series), Trigun, or Cowboy Bebop.

Cromartie High School and Shin Chan
Very few shows have ever made me laugh like Cromartie High. “I’m gonna fudging kill you” is a phrase I use almost daily.

No love for Boondocks. One of the funniest shows ever, and the fight scenes are better than that of Naruto or Bleach.

I’ve been watching Ghost in the Shell series. They have series 1-2 and the movie here. I am able to watch the series haven’t tried the movie, already watched it from another random site that I forget.

By the way it is subbed not dubbed over with english voices. The movie I watched was dubbed.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is by many regarded as one of the best animes out there.

Someone watch it for me, and report back.

The Boondocks is pretty great at its high points. I don’t remember another animated show that gave me such strong laughs.

Too bad the third season was a major let down. They stepped up the animation budget but forgot to make it funny.

I’m kinda surprised no one has brought up School Rumble, it’s funny as hell but lacks a true ending.

I don’t think anyone listed Claymore either. It’s like Berserk with a female protagonist.
