Berardi's 7 Habits/PN Results

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone out there has actually done the first part of Berardi’s Tailor-Made (Precision) Nutrition program.

I mean, did the chart and everything:
Only veggies, protein, good fats and fruit for 6-ish meals a day.
90% compliance for 3-5 weeks.

I’m curious as to anyone’s direct results.
What change did you notice in your physique, performance, etc.?
Anyone?

I just started trying it out.

I have used the PN guidelines and continue to try and follow the 10 habits. However, I find it damn near impossible to get in as many fruits and veggies as he recommends and at every meal. Making compliance really hard.

Note: This is not a “diet” per se, as Massive Eating was, so the results are all in your individualization.

Are you doing better than you were? (F & V - wise?)

If so, give yourself more credit than you are.

Also, shoot us an email at info@johnberardi.com and we’ll be able to point you to some “increase your F&V” resources.

I’m with the previous poster… I just used the article as a guide to make my current diet… I have been following to >90% and have had good results so far…
But it’s really in the individualization and I agree that its nearly impossible to eat as many fruits/vegetables as JB recommends…

Right.
I know it’s not a “diet”.

Specifically what i’m interested in is anyone who has actually done exactly what Berardi said to do.
Not used it as a “guideline” or considered it…or “tried” to do it…but who actually did it:

Printed out the chart…and did 90% compliance for 3-5 weeks.

Actually, i’m not really finding that hard at all.
I’m able to get fruit and vegetables easily into every meal…
but then again, i’ve been planning meals, packing my bag with ziplocks for about 15-20 years now.

Man…cue the crickets.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I find fruits and vegetables the easiest part to follow. I’m starting on a diet on the 29th specialized for me from PN. Why not sooner you ask? Because I go to boarding school and the garbage they serve me for two meals a day sucks and I can’t fit enough food in my fridge. Luckily I can basically contorl my breakfast well, but with class where we can’t have food I have to either get the teachers really mad when I talk about the garbage school policy about eating while I drink my shakes or have to sneak the food.

I think a large group of us my self included have simply lived by such guidlines for years. So Yes id say it works, for health, and what ever your goal is. Adjust accordingly.

Well duh.
Of course we have all followed those general principals…myself included…for years.

But i have never actually done what JB has laid out specifically, and been very diligent about it, Only fruits, vegetables protein and good fats, with 90% compliance for 3-5 weeks, and i’ve been training and eating for lifting for about 15+ years.

Very interested as to what will happen.
The removal of whole grain breads, oats, brown rice etc is what make me the most curious.

Dr. Berardi,
is it possible to eat too much vegetables?
I like to feel “full”, so I eat more than 2 pounds a day.

Definitely! And the basic outline has definitely helped some digestive issues I had. (I went back to a strict P+C/P+F this week to gain and paid an uncomfortable price).

I REALLLLLYYYY doubt it.

By the way, if anyone needs a safe restaraunt meal, get your ass to a Thai place. Jesus H, I ordered “Mixed Veggies with chicken” tonight and I had my work cut out for me. They did NOT skimp on the chicken, and I probably had 4 servings of veggies to go through.

Well OK

Dont have the book but those foods you state and the 90% compliance or better is what I have been doing on this clean bulk for the last just about two years

Today Im 70 lbs heavier. wearing not only the same size shorts but hell the same damn pairs in most cases and Fell better and lifting more than ever.

I guess the only exception would be I have 1 cup of oats every morning.

That help.
Phill

It works well. I adhere to it close to 90% of the time. I have copious amounts of fruit/veg and meat/poultry. The exceptions are mornings where I have a liquid breakfast (no time to cook, I could get up earlier but that would mean waking up at 4am… no thanks!).

In total I am eating 4000 calories a day and most of my carbs come from fruit/veg, except for 60g or so in the morning from oats and maybe 70g or so post workout from a portion of brown rice. Note: I eat about 400g of carbs a day.

So yes, PN is great!

I have done PN in a few phases.
My results were noticable. In a week’s time I could notice a leaner waist, increased alertness and more consistent performance in the gym.
Unlike some of the posts here, I had no problem getting in the fruits and veggies. My biggest problem was planning while working such a hectic schedule and, according to the eat every 2-3 hour rule, eating up to 8 times a day.

Shadow

I am struggling with 90% compliance. I average in the 70-80’s%. With a quickly changing schedule food prep is hard. Exams and what not. I will get it, ive started preping food as a fast food restaraunt would. I cut up a bunch of food, alot of veggies. Then clingwrap, chinese containers and into the fridge time, date them. New ones in the back, pull forward old ones. Grab handfull and toss it into a bowl when i want.

But i have noticed some results. Cut out the majority of liquid cals cleaned everything up nicely. Once i find the foods i like to eat often it will be easier. Having a problem with shakes too…

But i will say compliance with the 7 habbits, even if not perfect, does work.

Many thanks guys!
Great info.

I’m feeling pretty great after one week and not losing any strength or energy during training.
So far so good!

I’ve been doing PN Berardi style eating since october, Id really say 95% compliant, do the charts, track my results with body measurements and body fat measurements. I have the trays of his chili in my fridge at school and I wake up an hour before school to prepare my meals to bring to school. With no intent on gaining a lot of weight, I was content at 165, 5’8 and I gained 25 pounds this year and still have abs showing. I finally have ripped legs, and can see the veins in my arms. My lifts skyrocketed. I go to the bathroom more than ever. Enjoy PN

Is 90% compliance really that hard?

At 6 meals a day, thats a cheat meal EVERY OTHER DAY. Is it that hard to go without cheating? I only eat 5 meals a day, sometimes 6, and that allows me 3 cheat meals a week…Still almost every other day.

Start buying tupperware… Make huge portions of healthy meals and keep them handy for when you “dont have time”.

Look up Amsterdam Animal, check out his profile picture…thats what you do when you dont have time.
