I am thinking of doing a new diet plan. I can’t decide between which doctor to follow and which book to get. What do you think?
Berardi.
I like the AD.

I’m a big fan of the AD diet also.

JB
The AD is treating me good so far. Check the big AD thread.

I didn’t think people used diets… I thought it was all steroids?
(I vote for JB)
Berardi.
Why not try em both [not at once obviously]. See what works, you may even discover that a middle ground works best for you [T-Dawg 2.0 style].
di’s nutz.
I have tried them both… all I have to say about the AD is “phenomenal”. It worked absolutely perfectly for me. I put on some muscle and lost ALL my fat. Then I tried Berardi’s… his techniques did not work for me. I whole heartedly recommend the Anabolic Diet.
How old are you? I ask for two reasons.
First, if you’re young, then flip a coin. Do that diet for a couple of months. Take notes. See how it works for you. Then switch.
Second, if you are not young, why are you asking other people to do the thinking for you?
In any event, I doubt you’re so old that you lack the time to try both. So… Flip that coin.

Definitely JB, unless you have an extreme problem in handling carbs, which most people don’t. Those that do usually have better results with the AD.

Well you said “diet” you never said what exactly you are looking for?
That being said, I would recommend Berardi and “The Metabolism Advantage.” I like how Berardi focuses more on veggies, fruits, and their long term implications on health.
Further, depending on what type of condition you are in now, you may want to take a look at Berardi’s Get Shredded Diet.
He’s asking in order to get other people’s opinions, and to see what’s worked for them. If, hypothetically, 19 out of 20 responses were from people who voted for the same diet, that would likely be quite helpful to him.
Don’t act like an ass when someone asks a question. That’s why we have forums.

Thank you. This is exactly why I am asking the question; I have read a lot by both authors and would like to know from people who have actually tried the diets what worked for them.

I would like to become leaner around 8-10% or so, more muscular and stronger for competetive powerlifting.
I guess that some think that Berardi’s diet is better for long term health?
I have been AD’ing for about 2 months now. I like it… I went from cutting to bulking and have already put on about 10 pounds without really trying to eat a lot yet. And my body fat hasn’t really gone up, maybe 1/2% according to caliper readings. My muscles actually appear more dense all the time. But that could just be from switching it up from cut to bulk.
And it is pretty much the coolest diet ever. Beef, nuts, fish oil, cheese. Those are my staples. My saturday pizza trip is killer. I feel like I could run a marathon after my whole large pizza.
Good luck choosing… JB is good shit too!
