Bench Stalled/Decreased

one last question, trying not to be annoying, but I’m new to powerlifting…Is it recommended to keep FSL out during the pre-meet stage?
Good question, not really sure how to answer that as I’ve never competed. All I can suggest is that Jim wrote something called “Never Peak Again” which could apply to your situation. I’m not sure if it’s on T-Nation or just his own site. You will likely find good value in joining his site as there are a lot of experienced members including those that have competed.

Good post, I’m doing bbb bench on ovhp day currently,do you think that isn’t as good as a first set last? Thought it would be good for higher volume
IMO…

BBB is for developing size.

FSL/Jokers are for developing strength.

If I read your posts correctly your goal is to maximize your strength going into a meet, yet you’re using the tool that’s meant to build size in the off season.

5-3-1 for power lifters will help, I use it when I’m getting ready for a meet but where you are at do 5-3-1+ and then fsl and pause every rep on every set for counts of 3, 2, 1.
