Bench Press Slingshot

The Slingshot is definitely a great training tool. Getting it on and off by yourself can be a bit tricky tho. The one I am using in this video is the Maddog version. I think when I made this video my raw max was somewhere in the 415-425 range. In case you can’t tell from the video it’s 475. It will DEFINITELY get your lock-out strong when used consistently.

And for those that train alone or need something a little easier to get on and off, look at the BenchDaddy when you get a chance. I haven’t got one, yet, but I know people who have used them and have had nothing but good things to say.

that’s an impressive bench!

i find if you get a big enough size it goes on easier (although i have have fairly lanky limbs).
The original is easier to get on/off compared to the mad dog one

Curls with the BenchDaddy!? Brilliant!

Hi everyone!
I am late here but i hope someone can help me.

I am bodybuilder and i never do full range of motion bench press,i have a very long arms (and bad shoulder health) and it fu… up my shoulders since the first rep.

BUT i do close grip board presses cause it doesnt hurt my shoulders and is my favorite tríceps exercise.

Pushdowns, skull crushers, extensions none of these gives me the same results as the board presses simply i love them (i do it with chains, bands etc).

I have heard very good feedbacks about Slingshot but i dont know if it is good for someone like me…
I dont give a sh… about my full range bench press so i am not looking for a good bench press carry over, the only thing that i want is to overload my tríceps without compromising my shoulder health.

Do you think the maddog slingshot is appropriate? Do you think it has any advantages over board presses for pure tríceps training?

Thanks a lot…and sorry for my english hehe

from what you’re describing it sounds perfect

For the record, Mark sometimes uses the slingshot with boards. (The slingshot on his chest, with the board on top of the slingshot.)

If board presses are best for your triceps, overload your board presses and I’d bet you’d see some growth.

Hey guys thanks for the early responses!!!

Well i going to try to explain my reasoning:

I have a 265 lb close grip bench press with 3 boards for 8 reps.

Obviously my complete close grip bench press is less (i dont know how cause as i said i dont do it since years) so i think that if i would do the press with full range of motion and with slingshot´s help i couldn´t do more than 265lb (with more risk for my shouldercause the full rom ) am i correct?

On the other hand the board presses with slingshot sound interesting but i use 3 boards maybe not enough rom for slingshoot start to work…

Maybe i am overthinking all of this but i dont want to waste my money

Thanks a lot guys!
