Coach T, I have an enquiry about the bench method which i saw in your video, The Perfect Rep. It seems that you did not perform a full ROM bench (touching your chest). Is this method suited more for bodybuilding? Time under tension? I have always been doing the full ROM benches. What are some of the Pros and Cons of full ROM and Half-ROM benches? Thank you.

I’m not the one doing the reps in the “perfect reps” video. Go to the T-Nation Forum … featured video section … I bodybuilder trailer… this is where I am training myself.
I’m performing 3 exercises…
- the pin press, which starts from pins about 4’’ from the chest
- Regular bench press in which I DO touch the chest (lift at 3 minutes into the video)
- floor press in which the ROM is limited as the elbows are touching the floor
All 3 of those load the muscles and CNS in a different way. When I’m doing regular bench presses I always touch the chest. But some lifters with shoulder issues might want to stop JUST before hitting the chest. Not more than 1" above.
thanks very much, coach t!
