Did a 30 min Peloton, did 5 zone 4 intervals, more entertained. Averaged 150 watts.
Feeling pretty unmotivated to train/do more than the bare minimum atm but only have one more day on this block, will get that done tomorrow.
Offer has been accepted (almost formally) just need to schedule the inspection to make sure we can get it done in time before I leave on Thursday next week. Which means I’ll have Mon-Wednesday to find something to lift/condition/whatever. Only plan is to hit a max push press at some point.
Shoulder warmup (now includes supinated pullaparts)
Axle bench: bar x 10, 120 x 10, 210 x 8, 255 x 5, 290 x 5, 325 x 5, 255 x 10, x 8, x 7
SA band pulldown: 2x10
BB row: 135 x 10, 185 2x10
Will try and get some push work in and something t else. Under contract for the house now, eek.
Cycle 2 over, got both cycles done in 43 days including a 5 day west coast trip. Will have to look into slowing down a bit once things stabilize so I can squeeze more conditioning in. Started the cycles around 294 and ended at 285.8 (morning weight) this morning. Good to see strength maintenance, at worse, through a decent deficit. Lost a little momentum towards the end but still put in more work than I normally do, by a wide margin.
I’m starting to believe you, appreciate that you weighed in a few weeks back.
Lol seriously though, I’m tired of not being able to press at home and having to shift things about all the time. This place has like 600 sqft of covered space on the back of the house that will be amazing for lifting.
We’re officially under contract as of 30 seconds ago, so I hope it does too!
Got in 112 pushups as my push work for the day and a 10 min class for core
Was planning on doing 4 x 25 but on the 3rd set my dog greeted me with a headbutt after rep 12, shook the cobwebs loose and played with her for 15 minutes instead. She is actually becoming a good dog, like half the reason I bought a house was for her to have a yard. I know a lot of people have dogs in apartments and condos but it was making me feel bad to keep her from running around most of the day, felt the same way about my last dog, too. Planning on fencing off somewhere between .25 and 1 acre for her, assuming the rest of the house buying process continues smoothly. I’m really just heretodog.
It’s a horse stall mat, I’m not sure that linked one is the exact model but they’re great. I have a thicker, bigger one for my rack and 2 thinner ones for my deadlift platform, thicker would be better but these work. Pwn was the inspiration on this, so credit goes to him.
Not quite, there are so many parts of the process. We’re at step 2 of like 12 at this point but assuming everything goes as expected we’ll be there in 60-70 days! I’m currently vacillating between being super excited about all of things I’ll be able to do (gym upgrade, fenced yard, beer brewing, a garden, deep freeze full of local meat, etc) and freaking out that I’m locking myself into a specific lifestyle and spending 10s of thousands of dollars to do so during a time when there is war, 50 year high inflation, and crazy high housing prices.
Sometimes I comfort myself by acknowledging that while things are bad, they could and probably will get much worse in the future. Might sound weird, but it helps me sometimes.
Only the second 45 minute ride i’ve done, pretty low intensity the whole time. Maintained zones 2 and 3 (out of 7 possible) for about 35 minutes of it, the hard part was keeping the little muscles engaged, the form decent and the mind there. I’m way better at this than i was a few months ago, though.
Have a home inspection tomorrow afternoon, depending on how that goes, I might try to sneak into the gym but it seems unlikely. Will probably just push the push press PR test to Wednesday morning. If anyone has tips on how to push press let me know, I think my minimum goal will be to hit 255 (E1RM for OHP is 250) with a stretch goal of 275. That could all change very easily though as I don’t think i’ve push pressed anything over 200, except as a way to not fail an OHP set.
Did nothing else yesterday and got nothing done today, save 9k steps.
Home inspection went well, some things to note but nothing major, will probably try and do some negotiating but am better mentally than I was before I did it. It did take 4 hours out of my day though so I got online about an hour early and worked late. Had eaten about 600 calories by the time i decided to order mexican for dinner. Ended up eating a ton (small quesadilla, burrito, some chips and quest, and a slice of coconut pie) but considering I woke up at 283 flat this morning I think more calories were needed.
Will hit a push press tomorrow and probably some other accessories for fun. My traps were sore today, I assume from being seated on the bike yesterday but idk.
