Before I See the Doctor...

Don’t worry, I am going to the doctor before the month’s end.

Last summer i was working at a pool again,i was a cook.I stood outside in the 90 degree plus weather with humidity around 80% over an open flame cooking hamburgers and hotdogs and was not allowed to take off my thick COTTON/WOOL shirt.

During my 30 minute break I’d run behind the pool and get a quick workout since they had a bunch of weights. It felt hotter in that building(think of a huge garage that stores a big enough turbine to churn a commercial pool so hard that it makes waves) than it did outside.

I would feel teriibly sick after the workout but still had to go back to work.I thought it was just the heat.It never stopped happening after the summer, though,it wasnt as bad as it had been.I thought that since I hadnt lifted like I used to that my body was just fatigued. Well the past 2 workouts ive done were 45 minutes long, and 10 minutes into them my stomach would start to knot and make my head hurt and feel like I was going to puke.

I came home and would just lay down for an hour until I felt like my legs would support me and then id shower and eat.

I’d like to know what some of yall think it could be.My dad thinks I have low blood sugar like my mom,I went a step further and said it might be diabetes.I don’t let myself think its anything worse then that cause i dont wanna hear “you cant lift any more”.I doubt it has much to due with the fact that i’ve torn my meniscus around 8 times and still havent fixed it,but I’ll throw that out there.

I’m going out on a limb here, but it’s probably a mild case of heat stroke. It’s either too hot, or you need to drink more water. Might be a combination of both.

Oh, guess I didn’t read all the way through…in that case, I have no idea.

if it was still 90 degrees id probably agree with you,but its 60 degrees in the gym down here.

Diabetes…that’s saying a lot. Do these episodes only accompany workouts, or do they also accompany high GI snacks/erratic eating patterns? Not knowing anything about your diet, I can’t really say for sure, but that seems a bit extreme, nonetheless.

Could be a plethora of things, including Lupus and a lot of blood disorders. Don’t be an asshole and wait any longer. Go to your doctor.

Or simply low blood sugar. I don’t see any signs of Lupus here. You see common symptoms like that in syncopal patients who visit the doctor’s office. I agree with seeing a doctor, but I don’t agree with scaring him like he is going to die right now.

One more thing, if low blood sugar had already been a possibility presented to you, why haven’t you attempted to correct that by bringing some type of liquid carbohydrates with you WHILE training to see if that helped the situation?

well, the low blood sugar issue just came up after my last workout so i havent had time to implement liquid carbohydrates while working out. I’ll try that tomorrow and see what happens.

Lupus is way too extreme, don’t you think?

I’ll let you know how it goes with the liquid carbs Prof. X

Thanks Prof. X,I felt fine the whole time whilst ingesting the liquid carbs. It was a powerade.

Guess I have low blood sugar

Glad you didn’t die.

I’m touched by your concern

I’m…like, crying over here, man!

Hahahah gold!

Lesson - don’t work out with no fuel. It doesn’t work very well.

You may think he’s kiddin, but I bet he ruined the whole front of his Jimmy Neutron bathrobe.

haha, you guys have too much free time

It could be something simple. It could be something more serious. Some people, my wife included, need to be scared to get them to go to the doctors. My wife waited two years with some periodic stomach pain. Now she has only half of her colon left and a 5 inch scar on her belly.

People who have a long term undiagnosed problem, as this person has, need to be swatted upside the head. However, if he feels better after a gulp of Gatorade, that, along with some internet doctoring, seems to indicate that he ought to be good for another year…or maybe not.

GEORGE: A plane crash? A Heart attack? Lupus? Is it Lupus?

Now that made me laugh. Thanks. I’d bet PGA is already working on photoshopping it.

Of course, what jmw-volunteer isn’t telling you is that he had to brush the black mold off the asbestos pad on the door so he could lie down in the rat-poop -infested garage housing the large stores of pool chemicals…

Seriously, the other explanations make good sense.

eat a low glycemic balanced meal of P,c,and F. 60 minutes prior to working out.

try a source of protein, steel cut oats cooked 1 cup, 1 apple, and some almond butter. and fish oil

This meal will asure you stable bloodsugar for a long time.

well,if the tip works and the pain is gone…id say that’s a damn good indicator that low blood sugar was the cause now huh?

tribulus and dre got me laughing
