Before and After Transformation

Saw it yesterday. Interesting. But I think many here kind of knew some of the marketing tricks being used by the fitness industry. Clever, deceitful perhaps but understandable.

I like the ones that are stretched sideways to make them look fatter, including the head. Totally makes me want to buy their program

i always thought that it was more photoshop or they were already a quick crash diet away, i didn’t realize that in the same day it was easy to bloat and retain water to that extent.

Same. It’s clever that’s for sure. Didn’t realise the higher carbonation level of diet drinks for example.

Canadians…

I always suspected there was a trick somewhere…

They have been doing this for years. One good way to tell is to look at the belly button of the bodybuilder. If there is no change in the depth of the belly button at all (assuming an “innie”), then it is doubtful they really lost much overall fat even if their belly was sticking out before.

This is like decades old at this point in magazine ads.

Any time you see some NPC competitor who isn’t well known, that is usually what happened. If I go eat a medium pizza and take a pic, no lifting beforehand, and don’t flex at all…and then wait 4 hours, and go lift right before the pic, I am sure I could do the same or better.

In fact, people who really swell up after lifting make these look better.

A good friend of mine at my gym is a professional photographer. He actually specializes in sports, bodybuilding, fitness, etc. His name is Alex Ardenti. He has told me that with some of the technology available, and the skill of the person using it, you can take “before and after” pictures all within a matter of hours. Subtle (or drastic) changes can be made all with a click of a button. Shading is used to ‘enhance’ leanness, it’s all pretty much a crap shoot in the hands of the photographer at this point.

I guess the only avenue left that would be truly accurate is to use film, rather than digital photography, which is why it’s nearly extinct today.

Some of these were hilarious to anyone who actually knew what was going on…like this one. Notice the “new” tat as well. They just picked a bodybuilder off cycle probably after a lay off and then had him get back on his routine.

This one was likely taken the same day.

Uh, yeah…amazing.

Quincy could fart and make that transition.

I’m not even sure these even required the guy in the pic to do anything other than go train and take an after pic so they could change the lighting.

Also, if you really believe that is a 25lbs difference, you deserve to be taken advantage of.

Welcome to the art of grabbing a bodybuilder who isn’t oiled up before he trains…and then having him flex after training and a large dose of posing oil.

These pics could have been taken the same day.
