Stick to the point of the thread. Not everyone is as selfish as you.

Toby-W, what are these ‘health’ reasons for starting to eat meat?

I like the fact that you bumped a half-month old thread and used 1 of 2 posts on T-Nation to call me selfish.

Your other post is equally excellent.
Um…this thread was posted last week dude…did you think using the phrase “half-month” would make my post seem even more worthless to you and to any other viewer, lol.

And for the other post, I don’t feel I need to write a life’s story to get my point across. ‘Selfish’ is plain and simple, everyone knows what it means.
And, your post was very selfish, this persons asking for advice and you have give your pro-animal touture/slaughter remark. Whats hilarious is you probably have a dog or a cat or some kind of domesticated pet right? But you wouldn’t slaughter them for dinner tonight, because that would be cruelty right?

Are you trying to say even animals eat animals? (roll eyes)

I feed my cat tuna, if I had a dog I’d give him a bone to naw on. If I had to eat meat to survive I WOULD, but I don’t need it to survive (Im not that selfish).

Your avi is awesome by the way. One of best movies Ive seen in years.

For anyone still reading this post, if your going to eat meat buy it organic from your local butcher; they pump so much shit into those animals it ends up not becoming that healthy choice you were striving for.

Whoa! this must be a life changing event. How did you get your protein requirements per day? Whey, legumes, (clears throat)…soy?

I’m a vegetarian and I can’t seem to get my proteins lower than 180grams a day (and I weigh 106pounds)…it is VERY possible to get enough protein, and I only have a whey shake pre and post workout.

By the way are you from Chicago? I saw your avi picture from an old friend on his phone last year.
Wow, you weigh 106lbs? My ex weighed 120. I still wouldn’t justify becoming a veggie. I loves my flank, chicken, prime rib, salmon all the little critters except pork. I was at a pig farm a while back, I don’t care what you say cause I’m man enough to say it, man the little pigs really tore my heart.

For some reason, the show more emotion. Like a dog. You can tell when they’re happy and so on. I damn near bought the litter to save them from their fate. After that event, I swore never to eat pork again.

Cows are given steroids to get SWOLE, just like bodybuilders.

Be careful. Your digestive track is used to the vegan lifestyle and If you switch you will experience a bit of a shock to your system. I’d continue onto what you’re doing. No need to eat dead meat. I eat a mainly vegan diet myself and feel great. If you chose to eat meats - eat them raw. Cooking destroys the protein anyhow.
Sounds logical. I put raw eggs in my shakes sometimes and feel a difference as opposed to cooked eggs.

Yes I am very well aware of that. Thanks

Your ex weighed 120, was she also 5’3? (I would look FAT at 120). I weigh more and look 100x better now than I did as a wimpy looking meat eater years ago.

And uh yeah, I try to get people to never eat pork, of any kind of meat out there, pork = bad. For the story you just gave…its sick.

Dude…are you from Chicago or what?

She was just right man. No I’m not from chicago.

If its got hair and hooves. Ill eat it. Always wanted to try horse.

I must have a liar for a friend than. My friend worked for a gym equipment company in Chicago and worked out with a guy there who had your avi as his myspace. Oh well, whatever.

You don’t use proteins, you use amino acids, which cooking really can’t touch. The acid in your stomach isn’t exactly gentle to your food, so don’t worry about it. I wouldn’t eat raw meat were I you. If you want to be large, and who doesn’t, honestly, the best way is to eat dead things.

Also, fun fact about eggs, they have something called Albumin in them that actually inhibits your using the protein of the egg. Oddly enough, the albumin is destroyed by the heat of cooking.

Eat it with your hands too. Maybe grunt a little in between bites.

I’ve been a vegetarian for my whole life (21 years) just as i’ve been brought up this way. I’m thinking about starting to eat meat, for both social and health reasons. Has anyone had any experience with changing from vegetarianism? or ideas on what I should eat first? Its most likely going to be in a restuarant, as i still live at home with my parents where meat is a no go.
So your parents will not agree with you having meat in the house at all?

I’m not trying to be rude, but at 21, if you respectfully informed them of your decision to change your diet and asked how to do so with the least amount of disruption to the current routine, would they be OK with that?

Maybe you could buy a little fridge or freezer to store your meat if fridge space is an issue.

Don’t forget to try ground turkey. It’s one of my favorites. Very good with cumin.
