Hello. I got my scalp checked and it turns out that I’m balding because I have a minor burn in my head (probably from all the hot showers). I’ve read that BCAA is essential in protein synthesis for all kinds of damaged tissue, not just muscles, so it is used for burn victims.
Would it possible to regain some of my hair by taking BCAA? Did any of you experience increased hair growth when taking BCAA?

Minor burn in your head? You currently have a burn from hot water, or you burn your head everyday? I would think that the simplest solution would be to stop burning your head. Interesting though, I’m balding too and love hot showers!
You know that BCAA stands for Branch-Chain-Amino-Acids and they are 3 amino acids that make up a complete protein? If you are eating protein, then you are getting your BCAA. Now if you are talking about a low-calorie diet or training where there is a time issue then they would be most beneficual. But for hairloss, I don’t see how it would matter where you get your BCAA’s from - Eggs, Tablets, Whey, Steak, etc.
Or just accept the fact that you’re getting bald… shave it all off and look cool. I don’t think there’s the miracle cure against it that the creators of “hair medicine” claims.

and settle down with that hot water.

Hmm, I think I’ve been burning my head for quite some time. In any case, it would be interesting if BCAA suplementation would help fight hair loss, similar to how vitamin C helps in fighgting the flu.
And yeah, I’m trying to bathe in colder water, and I hate the chills.
I really think that the answer to your question is a question: Why would it matter where the BCAA’s came from if there is no timing issue and enough protein was consumed? I guess if BCAA’s helped with hair-loss then so would a high protein diet.
Since Ive been taking suppliments regularly for a year or so now my hair grows like a muthah fuggah!! Just had my hair done this week and my hair dresser wanted to know what the heck was going on. She’s amazed.

Then what is the point of supplementation if you can get everything supplements give by simply eating more?

I have noticed this also and my hair has grown rediculously fast lately literally twice as fast. I have been eating a paleo diet with lots of calories and recently (and I just recently noticed my hair growing faster) started taking BCAA’s so sounds like you should try it, I also take ZMA and fish oil.
BCAAs probably won’t slow your hair loss but you might want to try NIOXIN.
It is basically a series of scalp treatments that is supposed to slow and in some cases reverse hair thinning.
I’m only 17 and I’ve got pretty thick hair, but I was taking it for a while to control my dandruff… but while I was using it I noticed my hair got alot thicker and grew REALLY fast. You might want to try that.
Bumping this post because I didn’t want to start a new thread. I’ve been taking REZ-V and Alpha Male for over a month now and I’ve noticed a significant change in my hair growth. I used to be comfortable with my facial hair with a 4 day shave cycle. I have to shave after two days now. It might not sound like much of a difference, but it’s basically saying I’ve doubled the amount of growth.
