Where did you get the stone from and how much does it weigh?
More stones in NH then we know what to do with. The Granite State. I found all the stones in my yard. 1 cubic foot of granite is 162 lbs. So the 2 big stones are easily over 200 lbs. I have a bunch of 50-100 lb stones (estimated). I want to get a cheap scale and get a better idea of the weights.

stone carries with various weighted stones and positions- shouldered, bear hug, overhead
stone cleans, zercher squats, rows, MP, curls
Caught the stone lifting bug again today. Didn’t feel like lifting weights. Got my big rock up to my chest and walked a ways with it for the first time. My hands, fingers and arms all ache.[/quote]
Now THAT’S some fun, there.
Sweet. Nice work.

You are always bragging, but this is just obscene.
Note, no need to edit this one.

I did something like this once. Once. (Obscure movie quote) I took my kids swimming at a state park one time and they had stones all over the beach. Spent 2 hrs carrying and throwing them. I may have to do that again sometime.
Thanks all (except Pervert Pete). There is something ‘fun’ about carrying rocks (r not c) around. It beats you up though. I have bruises all over.

Sweet!! Down here we tote stumps. If you find a rock of any size you can best bet it was imported…
more fun in the yard. nice.
JW, if you need a stone let me know. I’ve got extras.
MJ, you’re 100% correct. Its fun as hell. Something primitive about it.
You’re getting really creative in your workouts. Good stuff.
Its been so nice out its hard to drag myself into the sunless basement. And the stones have started talking to me. But I’m not crazy.
Lifting outside for enjoyment is a wonderful expirience to be sure.
Are you thinking about strongman comp’s or just having fun lifting up terra cotta?
Its ok if the stones talk to you…its when you start talking back that we have to worry!! hey, how did your son’s lax game go yesterday?
Rick, just having fun and changing things up.
OG, The stones may be the smartest thing I talk to all day.
Coach moved my son from def to middie. He was gassed. Some aerobic conditioning is in order. When he’s in a scrum fighting for the ball he does real well. Throws kids all over the place. He’s strong for his age. But gets winded to easily.

Thats cool Steve. My nephew is playing on the OBX. This year he played middie and defensive man on the A and B team. For some reason he really likes the long stick.
JW,it must be a blast watching him play. He must be tough as nails.

I wasn’t supposed to workout today but practice was cancelled due to rain. I threw this workout together real quick. My bis already ache.
nice stuff Steve - jealous of the rock carry, are your granite stone small crystalline or more like slabs. Rocky Mountain granite makes hamburger of hands and arms due to the small sharp crystalline structure.
Nice work for a thrown together session!
This is just my opinion, but at your sons age he should play every position, including goal. It does a couple of things; it allows a player to find what he feels most comfortable doing ( which is usually where he or she will be teh most successful) and a stint in goal makes you appreciate the crazy teammate who opts for that position. And goalie at a young age is tough. The shots aren’t really that fast but the shooters are not accurate and usually look at the goalie when shooting so they hit the goalie a lot! ENJOY!
Nice work, Steve. You just keep getting it done. And are having fun with it at the same time. Great stuff.
