Agreed. I love this stuff. Agreed with Silver Surfer, I don’t like the ones that are so freaking untouchable. Like him and the gods. But Surfer would probably win the Battle Royale, excluding villians because it gets complicated.
Silver Surfer can enter hyperspace and create black holes and project cosmic force and turn matter into energy and whatever the fuck.
Whatever happened to just bein really, really strong or able to shoot lightning or something ya know?

Absolutely, its just to much to think about. Same with the cosmic god-like villians, they bug me.

That’s Marvel for you. They smoke da Mahvel.

But they are the masters at making a conflicted hero that you think could turn into a villain without much hesitation. That inner turmoil in their characters makes them far more interesting.

Who wins Superman vs. Hulk in an arm wrestling match?
As much as I love the Hulk, Superman still wins.
Edit: In fact I’d go so far as to say Superman would still win even against World War Hulk.
In an old cross over series, Superman beat the Hulk. First he punched him and then used his heat vision. Guess you have to beat the Hulk before he gets angry.
csulli wrote:
Well if you’re mixing universes and just throwing it all in there (excluding bad guys) here is a list of people who would beat Superman off the top of my head:
Thor
Silver Surfer
Odin
Zeus
maybe Sentry
All debatable except maybe Silver Surfer. Doctor Strange can beat Superman handily barring a blitz.
I think in general though Strange is dead meat unless he dupes Supes and catches him off guard. Dr. Strange has no defense against Superman’s strength.
Superman is weak to magic. He’s stronger than Thor, but with Thor’s magic he will win. Odin and Zeus likewise would win handily I think.
Silver Surfer pisses me off as a character if I’m honest. He’s so fucking weird and they made him ridiculously powerful with all kinds of crazy abilities. I dunno he just annoys me.
Yeah that’s the thing. I don’t follow Strange very much so I’m not sure if he has any artifacts or passive magic that buffs his physical abilities and precognitive skills or not.
I think the reason why Superman has no defense against magic is because it bypasses his bio-electric field somehow. Probably a physics matter. I think Thor will encounter similar issues to when to he fights the Hulk. It’s a real toss up.
Silver Surfer is one of the most inconsistent characters in Marvel. I don’t much care for him either.
Since I guess its everyone vs everyone, I guess Dr. Manhattan beats them all? Simultaneously with multiple copies of himself? All while he’s also lying in bed with Laurie
Batman vs ironman was a battle between two figures with no special powers, only equipment, skills and strategy; this has gone too far comparing superheroes with qualitatively different powers.

Dr. Manhattan will never be more than a weak version of Silver Surfer. I really hate him for some reason.

Fair enough, Dr. Manhattan isnt arbitrarily powerful so in that sense he’s more realistic as a hero, but yeah he pretty much went full emo and started letting shit on earth fall apart. In any case, Dr. Manhattan and Silver Surfer are comparable and could have a good entertaining fight. As is the case with batman vs ironman
Superman is so much more powerful than the hulk that its really not a fair fight, similarly for most other superheroes against Superman

Honestly id be more interested in a Taskmaster vs. Batman fight, since there a bit more similar in skill set than Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne.
Ya that’d be an epic fight, I wanna see batman verse spawn though, like a fight in the pits of hell…that’d be crazy
Batman to my knowledge has never been able to beat Etrigan so there’s no way he stands a chance against spawn.
Batman HAS fought Spawn and if I remember correctly there was no clear winner. I still have the comic book at my folks house, I may even pay them a visit just to get it.
I’m loving that a bunch of grown men are discussing stuff like this, I guess as much as we grow older and mature deep down inside we’re still 12 years old.

Batman vs Captain America was a stalemate.

How the hell does Captain America keep up with Batman…I like Cap, but come on now.

“When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

One of my favorite quotes. It’s amazing (although I suppose not surprising) how many bodybuilders and strength athletes got their very first inspiration from comic book characters or something similar. It’s nice to enjoy the nostalgia of it lol.
Look, whatever Ironman can do, Batman can do better. After all, since that’s basically how that cheap rip-off artist, Stan Lee, created Ironman then it’s certainly a good enough logic for this discussion.
