Alright so my roommate and I have been arguing about this for over a week now, so I’m going to leave it to the T nation guys to help answer this connundrumn.
Who do you think would dominate in a one on one brawl between these two?
I mean they both have mad amounts of money, and a bunch of awesome gadgets.
I’ll leave it to you guys…(although I’m sure batman would whoop the shit outta ironman, all while talking in his raspy christian bale voice)
Batman by default, just for being fucking Batman. Plus, if Wayne can EMP Stark’s suit and power system, he could Mortal Kombat the bejeezus out of him in his judo-flippy fisticuff shenanigans.
Without the Ironman suit, Tony Starks is absolutely worthless compared to Bruce Wayne. Batman can beat the fuck out of Ironman without even being in his Batsuit. Starks wouldn’t last five seconds against Wayne without that suit of his.
The Ironman suit may be superior to the Batsuit, but the person in the suit is no match for the person in the Batsuit. Batman has so much shit at his disposal he’d undoubtedly have some sort of device that would effectively neutralize whatever advantage Starks’ suit gives him. Batman can level the playing field on anyone and he’s literally always going to be two steps ahead of someone like Starks, who doesn’t have the strategic mind, the detective skills, the fighting acumen or the sheer willpower that Batman has. I mean, we’re talking about a guy who has a contingency plan in place for dealing with each and every member of the Justice League just in case any of them gets out of line and needs to get knocked down a notch or two.
I think it’s a given that Starks isn’t going to be able to use the Ironman suit against Batman in a meaningful way. Batman would simply shut the thing down with some electric device of his. And then it’s all over for poor little Tony Starks.
Iron man, the only way batman would have a chance is if Tony Stark used one of his older armors and that would still be iffy. The Extremis armor that tony stark uses has night vision as well as a heartbeat sensor so stealth isnt an option which is Batmans only real advantage. The Extremis armor also has a emp emitter so presumably the armor is emp shielded. Besides Tony Stark has gone toe to toe with the hulk, not to mention the Asgardians i doubt that a man who has taken on gods would have much trouble with some emo guy in a fetish suit who hunts poor people for sport.

Batman takes on Superman all the time.
Besides, Ironman is just a bunch of cheap bullshit and an obvious copy of Batman. Don’t underestimate the mindset of someone who hunts other human for sport.
The likely scenario here is that Batman would be the one going after Ironman, assuming Ironman didn’t just fall out of some other dimension and into Gotham City one night. Batman would always be extremely suspicious of a guy like Starks. So as long as Starks didn’t just fall out of another dimension and Batman was aware of his existence already, Batman would undoubtedly have some sort of plan for dealing with Ironman. The only reason they would clash is if Ironman got out of line and was some sort of threat, or potentially stood in Batman’s way.
I would guess that Wayne Enterprises would engage in some corporate espionage targeted at Starks Industries. The likelihood is that Batman would actually be going after Ironman in an another Ironman suit. Batman would probably make some Bat-specific adjustments to the suit, perhaps upgraded night vision capabilities of some sort, but there is simply no way Batman is stupid enough to go to battle against Ironman without a suit of his own that puts him on equal footing with Ironman. And if the playing field is leveled in respect to the suits, Starks is at a very large disadvantage in literally every other way possible.
Take away the Ironman suit and Starks is a nobody. Take away the Batsuit and Wayne is still someone who gets off on hunting people at night.
Real question is which billionare spends more on hookers and blow. Pretty sure it would be Starks.
I have a hard time with the fact that I am supposed to belive 2 guys with billions of dollars decide to risk their life and spend their fortunes on crime fighting rather then just chilling on a private island and slapping hookers.
Batman could also just as easily hack into Ironman’s suit from the Batcave and not even break a sweat bouncing that daffy all over Gotham City. Ironman’s biggest strength, the suit, is also his biggest weakness when it comes to fighting someone with Batman’s intellect. Starks may be as smart as, or smarter, than Wayne, but Starks hasn’t figured out how to do a fucking thing without that suit of his.

Wayne is such a disturbed psychopath with no ability to relate to the real world that that sort of thing doesn’t occur to him. If he and Starks were locked into some sort of death struggle I have a hard time Starks has the mental fortitude to see the fight to the end. Not that Batman would kill Starks, but he wouldn’t stop going after Starks until Starks was no longer a threat to anyone. Starks would just give up the fight and quit once he realized he had an obsessive psychopath on his ass 24/7 because fighting off something like that would take away from his coke and hooker time.
