COACH T, how would you train somebody for basketball?
some of my basic stats
14 years old, 8th grade
113 pounds( and gaining)
5"6
Point Guard
Powerlifting for 6 months…
Can do Olifts
Lifts :
Squat - 155
Bench - 95
Deadlift - 215
Power Clean - 95+
get strong first, then ol’s, ol’s will do nothing if you ain’t strong. Increase that squat and deadlift.
are there any sport specific exercises i should make sure to have in therE?
yeah jumping
nah you probably don;'t need to do much jumping, since you already jump a lot on the court and too much of it will cause tendonitus and overuse injuries
just work on your strength
At you age some strength work and lots of playing is enough, by the time your 18 you will be dunking!
If not then you can add depth jumps and the fancy stuff
Dude, just get strong, if you want sport specific training, go shoot some hoops
