Bartl vs. Sayjin: A Fat Loss Challenge

Gentlemen,

How are the knees feeling?

Everything looks good from both of you so far, keep rollin!
Quite horrible if I do say so myself. The front of my knee is starting to hurt to the touch, and its such a bitch to put on my shoes in the morning with my bad leg. I tried to do my intervals the other day, it started to hurt really bad so I called it. I’m making up for it with NEEPA though, taking an hour walk/bike ride every day, with more on the days that I work outside. Time to re-plan my workouts again -_-

Maybe we should re-name this thread “Bartl vs. Sayjin: The Race To See Whose Knee’s Get Fucked Up The Worse”

How about there’s a change of plans and it gets titled “Bartl vs. Sayjin: The Race To See Who Can Get Their Knee Fixed First”? I think that would be a little more productive and conducive to both of you fulfilling any goals you have for yourself.

And I thought MY body was old! Sayjin, aren’t you even younger than I am? Get this taken care of boy! And Bartl… while you may be old(er), all the more reason to get it fixed sooner rather than later

Everyone at my work know’s I am trying to lose some weight and they ask me every fucking day, “how much have you lost?” I like their curiosity but its also a back handed question. They are like, “It will be interesting to see if you have lost anything at all”.

Seriously? Because your 7 soda’s a day, ice cream eating and pilates fat ass couldn’t lose your shadow on a sunny day? Or is it because you are fat, lonely and pathetic and want to lose weight but you can’t. You have no drive to be anything. To do anything.

Funniest part about it is that one girl always says this: i need to lose weight.

Yup, you do. So quite shoveling sandwhiches, pizza, beer, ice cream and every other shitty thing you can eat down your fat pie hole and get off your ass and do something.

(deep breath)

my rant is done
Remember Shugs negative people article, you got yourself a few of them from the sounds of it, that sucks. I work with a few myself, always tell me how good their (insert crap food here)is and rub it in my face, F’em, one of us will have their shirt off at the beach the other will have their desk chair stick to their ass when they get up for another donut.

Thats the plan m’lady. I have 2 more weeks of PT to see if it will help me avoid surgery, but if not I’m going to get the surgery done ASAP so I can hopefully be back in good standing before the end of the year. Oh yeah…from now on, no more damn ATG squats, despite of what the experts say. Parallell all the way for me.

Oh I remember it quite cleary because a friend I have known for 10 years is getting the quick boot to the ass out of my life because he is such a negative person.

As for the ladies, I have no sympathy. As the only male in the office, I get hit with a lot of shit. I just tell them they are fat and need to train. They don’t like it but I don’t care.

The truth hurts, espeically fat people. I speak from experience.

Friday

Meal 1 - 2 scoop MD, broccoli, 5g fish oil, 1oz almonds

Meal 2 - 5oz chicken breast, broccoli, 1oz almonds

Meal 3 - 5oz chicken breast, broccoli, 5g fish oil, 1oz almonds

Meal 4 - 4 eggs, broccoli, 1oz walnuts

Meal 5 - 5oz fish, broccoli, 5g fish oil, 1oz walnuts, 1tbsp peanut butter

Got a lot about an hour of walking in at work today, and instead of wasting my lunch I ate it about an hour earlier and went to the gym and did a quick EDT workout. I tried to do some ab wheel rollouts at the end of it as a bit of a finisher, but damnit if THOSE didnt hurt my knee too!

Dips - 65 (Bodyweight)
Pullups - 42 (Bodyweight)

Hey Tmoney, I’m going to see my twin Tracey Morgan tomorrow. so I’ll let you know how it goes!

SWEET!!! Enjoy the show, he’s hilarious.

And let me know when you go see your other brother Cuba Gooding Jr. as well, whenever he comes out with a new movie or Hanes commercial or something.

Today’s session was brutal. I actually thought I was going to vomit today, no joke. I could feel the food starting to come up a little. It was awesome.

4 sets, 5 reps, 115 pounds, no rest between movements, 90 sec rest between sets:

A1) Deadlift
A2) High Pull to toes
A3) Squat Clean (start from the hang and do a full Olympic style clean)
A4) Military Press
A5) Alt. Jump Lunges

For A2, its basically a hang clean but without dropping under the bar. That got the HR going pretty good but doing the squat cleans right after were tough. Those were the one’s where I thought I was going to blow, but I didn’t. It was another backyard session today. I am really liking these circuits because I don’t have to go to the gym to do them. I can do them in the sunshine, shirtless in the back yard with the stereo cranked up.

I got one more session for the week tomorrow, which will complete all 4 circuits. I have to admit, they are quite interesting to do. Its a dramatic change from the sessions Thibs had me doing in my clinic but its a nice change of pace.

I highly suggest a session, in this case 4 weeks worth, of circuit training to change things up a bit. You will thank me for it later.

Meal 1 - 6oz chicken, broccoli, 1oz almonds

Meal 2 - 5oz chicken, broccoli, 1 low carb tortilla w/1tbsp natty peanut butter, 5g fish oil

Meal 3 - 4 eggs

Meal 4 - 5oz beef, broccoli, 5g fish oil

Meal 5 - 2 scoop Low-Carb Metabolic Drive, 5g fish oil, 1oz almonds

You ready to the weigh in on Monday morning? I estimate that I haven’t lost as much as planned on, but we’ll see how much you lose…which will determine if you’re worthy of me unleashing the most awesome fat loss this world has ever seen! omnious thunder

Anyone else willing to put up some guesses?

I’m going to have Bartl weighing in 8lbs less (only if he’s been surfing as much as he usually does). Sayjin, due to some restrictions the knee has had, 4lbs. Prove me wrong boys, prove me wrong.

I think you’re spot on as far as I’m concerned - WHAT KIND OF PSYCHIC DEMON ARE YOU?!

Its been about a week since my last carb meal, so I’m thinking about doing it up big time, but only if I am 188 or less by tomorrow morning. If not, I’ll be going a bit more conservative.

There is a restaurant in Ypsilanti called The Bomber, which specializes in a huge breakfast called…well, The Bomber. What are the contents you ask?

Four Eggs
1 pound of potatoes
1 pound of bacon, ham, or sausage

I know how my body reacts to big meals like these, so the weight I do put on from something like this will be gone by midweek if even more so. Pictures will follow if this does indeed go down.

Small world, I graduated from EMU and have tried to get an entire Bomber down a few times. No luck. I always liked Abes a little better though.

I am psychic, but I am not a demon. I am sweet and pure and innocent. I am an angelic psychic perhaps? We shall see in the morning.

There is no way in hell I am down 8 pounds. There are no waves, hence no surfing lately. Mostly walking and even that is only 30 minutes a day. I did get in some swim sessions this week, but I was only about 90% compliant with the diet.

I will be lucky if I lost 3-4 pounds. I feel much better than I did a week ago and my body feels a hell of a lot better, I just don’t think that will translate into scale weight.

I have been messing around with a new combination of supplements this weekend though and I think I have found something pretty f-ing powerful.

Here is what you take first thing in the AM pre-walk:

2 HRX
1 Spike

Here is what you take on an empty stomach pre-training:

2 Spike
1 HRX

There you have it folks, your recipe for complete jitteryness (I just made up that word).

Here is complex #4 from today:

4 sets of 5 reps, 95 lbs, no rest between movements:

A1) Jump Squat
A2) Full Squat
A3) Squat and Hold (10 seconds)
A4) Military Press
A5) Push Press
A6) Full Squat Press

The squat and holds did not feel good on the knee. That coupled with the soreness from yesterday’s session made it kind of uncomfortable to train today. But I did and had a grand old time doing it. Plus I got some sun, so I was stoked.

Now I’m off to do my walk for the day then maybe wind down with a cold beer before beddy bye time.

Doesn’t this make you want to die? I took 1HRX a little too close to training time on Friday and I felt spacey, jittery and not in control of my body. The HRX combined with a hot gym is killer… so I can’t imagine it would be any better training in your backyard.

As an aside, since you’ve been training at home so often with your rust covered weights… are you up to date on your tetanus shots?

I poured rubbing alcohol over the bar to kill any germs.

And no it doesn’t make me want to die. It makes me want to do back flips in my living room for an hour or so.
