Bartl vs. Sayjin: A Fat Loss Challenge
Bartl wrote:
So today was the official start to our little challenge. My boy weighed in at 192 (fucker). I did not get my weight this morning so I will get it tomorrow. Then it becomes truly ON.

Here is what my diet consisted of today. Remember, the diets are going to be the same, there are a few changes regarding the green veggie substitution but for the most part, it should be the same:

Meal #1 -
4 whole eggs
1 stalk of celery

Meal #2
5 oz chicken w/ 1 T coconut oil

Meal #3
5 oz shrimp w/ 1 T coconut oil
massive amounts of lettuce (more like 1 Cup)
1 T PB

Meal #4
1/3 C almonds
2 scoops of Grow! Whey (my Low-Carb Metabolic Drive comes tomorrow)

Meal #5 (cooking as I type)
5 oz chicken
6 oz broccoli
1 T of PB

For my activity, I woke up at 5 am and went for a 40 min walk with my dog. After work, I did a jog/walk for about 20 minutes to see how my knee felt. It didn’t feel good but it didn’t feel bad either.

If I’m not mistaken, this was somewhat similar to your PC diet later on in the diet. Seemed to work good for you.

Good luck to both men. I’ll be supporting both of you.

wait so was that 2 Spike tabs? or was 2 supposed to mark the second of two points?

Spike got me through finals week
It was my second dose of Spike for the day and I took two tabs.

I much more mellow now thanks

Might as well throw this one in for good measure.

Chris Bartl, I’m coming for you man. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, and I’m just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah!
dude, you touch my dog and we will have SERIOUS issues

Similar? It is the diet I used during the middle part of my PC. I went back and looked at where I was 10 weeks out from my first race and had always planned on starting there for this race.

Except I’m nice and allowed Sayjin to substitute out some green veggies.

Go Sayjin!!!

not sure how to respond to that without sounding like a complete racist peice of shit.

Wednesday

2 HRX

Meal 1 - 2 scoops Low-Carb Metabolic Drive

Meal 2 - 5oz chicken breast, 1oz almonds, broccoli, 5g fish oil

Meal 3 - 5oz chicken breast, 1oz almonds, broccoli, 5g fish oil

2 HRX

Meal 4 - 5oz chicken breast, 1oz almonds

Meal 5 - 4 eggs, broccoli, 10g fish oil

Went to physical therapy today and everything is going fine so far. Didnt get my swimming in today because of the double work shift on top of PT, but I did get a 30min walk in before work, so I’m happy with that as my activity for the day.

Question for you Chris: Are cooking your chicken, measuring the 5oz and then just dumping 1tbsp of coconut oil on it before you eat it?

Also, are you guestimating on the PB or just carrying around a tablespoon, scooping the PB, leveling it out and downing it?

You like how I set you up, dont you?

Did you guys get BF% readings at the time of the weigh-in?

Because if it were me, to win a contest I would just not eat if it were based on weight alone.

Then again, you do have the lifting part of the contest-- that would mean you have to stay strong. I read the whole thread but I didn’t see if you guys are also judging the winner based on deadlift increase or not.

Great idea; all comes down to having a lifting partner, even if it’s over the internet. That’s always inspiring. Hell today all I had was spotter for 10 seconds and that made me give my all.

Good job guys.

I dont think we decided on the deadlift test, but I’d be down for that since I’m not going to be able to squat, and my bench sucks. 1RM with a vid would be quite tits as far proof goes.

I measure out the 5 oz and cook the chicken and/or shrimp in that.

As for the PB, I carry it around, scoop it out and fucking destroy it!

I’m down considering both our knee’s are fucked and would make for an interesting competition.

I’m in! It will also be interesting to see how this affects my tri training.

guess that means I need to change my program around after this first segment

not cool dude
FatPixelStudios wrote:

But both of these guys are training for a purpose. They want to lose weight to achieve their personal goals. So they don’t eat and drop a ton of weight… then Sayjin has no energy to box, Chris has no energy for his tri. Then they’re both losers.
Bartl wrote:

Its a scientific fact that the American brain is a more profcient producer of rational thought than the Canadian brain.
Let me guess…an American (ie. You) made that “scientific fact” up. This is just like Sayjin setting you up… you’ve set me up. And I can’t get into a American vs. Canadian battle with you. It would turn into a war. Plus, I’m a dirty fighter… and I do what it takes to win. We’d no longer be friends

Chris, what’s your nickname?

Sayjin’s nickname is Rage, so I call him Ragin Sayjin (with approval from his committee).

Do you have something cool? And no, your last name (although cool) does not qualify for your nickname.

LOL I seriously can’t stop laughing!!!

True…maybe this will help them achieve balance.

Still, the temptation to win just to beat the other guy is palpable, even if it means sacrifice on the other goal.

Trust me my friend, that wont happen. I love food way too much to starve myself, and I like keeping what little muscle mass I have =)

Dude, for 30 years my nickname hasn’t changed and it will never change.

Bartl

Thats it.

And if you starve you will lose muscle, go toxic and die.

I don’t want that.
