I am a huge Barry bonds fan and have great respect for him, and what he has accomplished. Mens journal did an article about his training regiment; I have to say the guy works his ass off. Training day and night in the off season. However, the article lists his weight training program and I have to say that I think it sucks. He is training more like a bodybuilder than a pro athlete (rear delt machine). I also noticed a lack of balance especially for someone with past hamstring injuries, 16 quad dominant sets and 6 hammy sets (leg curls). Maybe im wrong maybe it is a great program. Here is the link: http://www.mensjournal.com/feature/0305/workout.html
tell me what you guys think. Please lets not turn this into a ?barry is juicing? thread.
His workout seems very standard. There’s nothing all that interesting.
I think that he also does a hell of a lot of sprinting, which probally balances out his leg training. Its not really that outstanding a workout, although I liked all the warnings inserted by the editors, like “don’t try this at home, or you’ll break your wrists”.
This workout blows.
Heavy Bat training? What the fuck?!

“200’s
Do four successive 50-yard sprints at a moderately fast pace, with no rest between sprints.? Rest two and a half minutes. Repeat three or four times.”[/quote]
What the fuck is this? A 200? Four 50s?
What the hell. Somewhere, Poliquin, Thibaudeau, King, Staley, Waterbury and Alessi are grimacing.
Barry is juicing.
“It is not all bad, this getting old, ripening. After the fruit has got its growth it should juice up and mellow. God forbid I should live long enough to ferment and rot and fall to the ground in a squash”
~ Josh Billings
Anyone ever wonder if some of the workout articles written in magazines are actually fake? What I mean by this is do any of you think that these professional athletes, bodybuilders, etc., give false info concerning their training regimens so that they may maintatin some kind of edge over others? I generally find myself misinforming others in many aspects of life, that, or leaving something out, so that I may retain that slight edge over others. Anyone else do this?
