Barack: 'Typical White People'
Ultimate Badass wrote:
Someone running for president should be held to a higher standard then some old ass knucklehead on the radio.

As far as “typical black/white”, I assume it is because as a whole, black people tend to vote the same while white people are more split. Of course there are always exceptions.
You just did it again…yet you are so blind to the action that you can’t even see it.

Why don’t you hold yourself to a higher standard?

That has never crossed your mind?

What standard would that be?
Ultimate Badass wrote:

If no man in higher office can speak generally about white people, then NO ONE should be morally justified in speaking generally about black people.

If this is not the case, then this entire thread has been one huge retarded attempt at character assassination for reasons most of you don’t even believe in.

Is it socially acceptable to talk about black people in generalizations?
Sloth wrote:

You all do it anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Yet, when a black man does it to white people, all hell breaks loose.

Black people categorize themselves because of organizations, companies, etc. they join, such as BET, NAACP, et.

The only groups dedicated towards whites, are hate groups, which 99% of whites do no associate with.

Just so our standards match up, and so we can agree on equal footing in the great racial dialogue event of 2008, is it socially acceptable?

Black people? I’ve joined none of those organizations and rarely watch BET and… I’M FUCKING BLACK.

Quit generalizing what you think I or any other black man believes based on the color of his skin if “typical white person” bothers you so much.

Every one of you has done this IN THIS THREAD yet you take the position that a man running for president is at fault for doing it to you.

That is simply stupid. You can call it nothing else. You all are hypocrites of the highest order if you actually hold that position.

I can’t believe some of you. You would have to be living in a hole to even be asking some of these questions.

Most adult black men will tell you that we carry the burden of representing our entire race, especially if we take any negative action in society. It is viewed as “a black man” did this and not just a man. The same is not done to white men in this country. None of you are held as people to be avoided when white serial killers are caught. No one grabs their purse tighter when you walk by in spite of wearing the same shirt Ted Bundy may have…yet you all judge certain clothing as “thug wear” even though that style has pervaded every race across this country and even the world.

This is a FACT we have had to live with for decades in this country yet some of you have been completely oblivious to it.

Now, when it gets brought to your attention, you have the nerve to take offense.

Needless to say, I respect many of you much less after these threads have surfaced.

A generalization is just that. Of course you do not fit all generalizations about black people. No one fits all of them.
Ultimate Badass wrote:

Gee, let me slow this down for you because it apparently needs to be spelled out in crayon.

If that is the case, then no one should find fault with what Obama stated.

Get it?

I bet you don’t.

Those are you preconceived notions, not facts.

Now we’re just going in circles, because I could post the exact same thing I did above:

"Black people categorize themselves because of organizations, companies, etc. they join, such as BET, NAACP, et.

The only groups dedicated towards whites, are hate groups, which 99% of whites do no associate with."

Anyways, I do not share your opinions, nor you mine, but so be it. To each his own.

I do not see Obama’s remarks as being politically correct, or acceptable in our current “PC” driven culture. Especially for a presidential candidate.

But I wish to speak to my experience on this issue. When I see a black man that looks shady (hopefully you know what I mean here), I keep an eye on him as he passes me, I watch for sudden movements, I watch to make sure I don’t get sucker punched, or jumped, or a gun pulled one me, etc.

I grew up in poor neighborhoods that were mostly black. I have been sucker punched passing black people I did not know, I have been jumped for no reason by more than one black person I did not know, I have had a gun pulled on me, attempted robbbery, all by black people I didn’t know. All without provocation or warning, and some of this happened on more than one occasion.

I have never had any of the above from a white person. It is natural survival instinct that I watch black people I feel may harm me, more than I would watch a race that I have never had that problem with.

Am I racist? No. My wife is spanish, and her 1/2 brother is 1/2 spanish 1/2 black and married to a black woman. They are fine people and their color has never concerned me.

If you honestly believe that, then you should be able to understand why people are still upset at what has happened to a race in this country. Instances like the Tuskegee experiment brought distrust yet many here act like no one should be upset about it…yet here you are, upset about some childhood experience and effectively holding every black person you meet to that standard.

It is truly as if none of you can see your own actions. Until you do, there can be no progression in this country. This is NOT some one sided conversation where whites in general are not at fault in any way and where the only people who need to change are black people…yet that is actually the stance many have taken.

This is my last post in this thread because I have voiced my opinion in detail.

If it is still not understood at this point, blame yourselves.

Are you even interested in discussion? Because, I don’t think you even read what others write. Yes, women would grab their purses tighter if I dressed like my own father! I’ve seen white women, and men, act wary around my father many, many times. My God, how many times do I have to relate my own experiences. We don’t all grow up with a damn silver spoon in our mouths and a father that dresses like Mr. Cleaver.

Now even though I don’t dress like a biker, there have been a number of times that a woman has obviously become more alert in my presence, when in a situation where not many other people are around. GOOD FOR HER! Good for her! She had parents who did their duty in raising her to be aware of her safety, for crying out loud.

"POUND DAT LIL WHITE PUSSY!!! POUND DAT LIL WHITE PUSSY!!!

Ya…

YAAAAAA…

You thought you was going to be a bad little girl. Hate your Daddy, cuz you want the big black one. That’s right, I’m BARACK OBAMA bitch, take it down."

I mean, I agree with Proffessor X, in that this overreaction to Barack Obama’s statements is like.

White people were going to give the black man their vote…so they cured themselves of racism…and now they are using the same offense PC thug tactics that minorities often used in the 90s. To play offended and gain ground.

But, I don’t think what Barack Obama said was particularly racist. I do think it would be interesting that, if he said the first thing to a lil white girl, eye to eye, when he was um trying to…how do you say…“Push out questions of who I was during my youth.”…To some wierd little liberal caucasian skank…I mean, he might take after his Dad.

And if he did say that, then I think he gonna get my vote. Because I think it’s entertaining when some dumb lib girl, gets gaped by the big hung black man, cuz she just wanna be a lil hero for diversity.

Riiiiiiight…

I will be back to actually discuss…but I gotta be up at 4:00am. I guess I’m the other “affirmative action” black guy in a thread about race…ironic. I really want to discuss and hear perspectives other than my own.

I’ve attempted to speak intelligently and tried to provide valid points for a discussion…something that everyone claims to want. Yet…its been overlooked, somewhat twisted and all we seem to get is more about pointing the finger at Obama’s pastor, his one sermon, reverse racism,or “typical white people” comment.

Even more, who has asked themselves…what do I want out of this discussion? Or am I really just pointing the finger? Am I just stirring up shit? I want to hear experiences…or basically something that substantiates the views that some people have. So far all we have is another bullshit race thread…even after 9 pages…so sad.

Your opinion and words mean about as much to me as my dogs crap. I rarely care to even acknowledge your existence, but since you have singled me out and I am disgusted with you, I will take exception.

You called me out when I first came to this forum because you see yourself as the “King of T-Nation forums.” remember when I first came here and called you that, in this thread;

http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1298340&pageNo=2

I asserted in that thread that you jump to conclusions and enjoy berating people.

Above I said “When I see a black man that looks shady (hopefully you know what I mean here),” but as usual you jump to conclusion in order to attack, ignore what I stated, and say: “upset about some childhood experience and effectively holding every black person you meet to that standard.”

Let me say I have lived in poor, neighborhoods beyond my childhood and into much of my adult life. I have stated this in many threads, and even in the thread above where you posted several times arguing with me. You either have poor memory, poor reading comprehension, or attack so many people here they all get grouped together and you can’t recall one from the other.

With that, I ask you, do you really believe I hold my wifes 1/2 black brother to that standard, or his black wifes family when I see them during the holidays? What about the black guy that sits next to me at work I have much respect for that wears a tie every day?

If you believe your own words, you are more of a fool than I have already gaged you to be, and if you don’t it seems my original assessment of you was accurate; assumption jumping jackass who sees himself as “king of T-Nation.” Is this a re-occurring theme for you? I am willing to bet others are drawing similar conclusions. Scroll back on this post…maybe you will see some…

In the above post, you stated this:

“why is someone who is planning such a HUGE physical change training with someone who pays such little attention to the training world as a whole?”

But then, wait, I achieved that “HUGE physical change, you can see my pics or see this post:”

http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1300566&pageNo=0

And you did exactly what I called you out originally as doing:

“But I am sure that when I make my goals, you will either say nothing…”

http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1298340&pageNo=2

You did nothing…you shut up. Should I open a psychic pizza delivery joint? I could have the pizza at your door as soon as you realize you want it and pick up the phone.

I have done exactly what I said I would do when I first ran into you:

“I am done with you until you display genuine qualities.”

http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=1298340&pageNo=2

I took issue on this thread frankly because I am utterly disgusted with you. T-Nation would be a better place without you. You still have zero genuine qualities.

I thought my comment was unique and spread light on the issue.
