i hate staind. they play this guy all the time on 99x. supposed to be a rock station and i will be enjoying system of a down or something and then they play this bald cunt who whines about how mean everybody is to him. i hate self pitying droning rock.

Most of those bands are pretty popular especially the shins and Belle and Sebastian. Rough Trade has released albums from big acts like The Strokes and The Libertines. And the shins were on sub pop until recent.

On the subject of drummers, I got suckered into driving a youth group to a Casting Crowns concert a few years back (a Christian band). And was pretty impressed with their drummer.
