Baltimore Burning

Bunch of photo’s of this horse shit.

Obama agrees with me, “That is not a protest. That is not a statement,” Obama said of the violence. “It’s a handful of people taking advantage of the situation. They need to be treated as criminals.”

Utter horse shit. Just utter horse shit to the 9th degree.

Fucking skin color has nothing to do with it. Police get away with killing white people too, white people riot quite often too, and burn shit and destroy areas of cities.

Good lord.

Not disagreeing with you completely, but when was the last time white people rioted ?
When was the last major sporting event?

Look, I’m not going to get into the “white people v black people and when they riot” debate. All it does is perpetuate the latent racism in typical reaction anytime some asshole who happens to be black loots.

“Oh look, another black dude who doesn’t have work boots”. I’m tired of it. Skin color has nothing to do with it, but some people just can’t NOT bring it up every damn time, on both sides.

Both the cheerleaders for jack boot thugs with a badge and the cheerleaders who justify and explain away shit behavior because “their black, poor and oppressed by whitey”.

I don’t trust people who don’t trust me. Cops don’t trust me, the government doesn’t trust me. That said, I’ve never had a bad run in with a cop, ever. I’ve met a bunch of scumbags off duty who are people I would NEVER in my life choose to hang out with, but I’ve never had a run in with a police office go in any way south. That isn’t because I’m white. It’s because I’m respectful and obedient and know good lawyers.

It’s s socio-economic thing. Who brings race into the discussion? They fucking do!!

Destructive drunk UK college kids breaking shit is not the same thing.

That’s disgusting. There were a fair share of gangsters in those photos.

I grew up in a big city and did stupid shit in high school. The cops were dicks to us, and were rough. Did we think of assaulting them? Fuck no! Did they violate our rights when I was 16, 18. Yes, a couple of times they did. But you know what? I was doing dumb shit when they fucked with us.

As an adult, they have been fine. I have got some BS tickets, but that’s it. They are not a part of my life. Why? Because I DONT INVOLVE MYSELF IN DUMB/ SHADY SHIT!! It’s fucking simple.

All of my working black/Latino and Asian friends say the same fucking thing.

It happens once in awhile, but I’m 100% on board with Bam here. They are ruining what could have been a good thing for this city by being assholes.

The fact you don’t see how this post, in and of itself, contributes to the problem is why we have the problem we do.

The people cheering for LEO to government the shit out of these rioters and protect and serve them with batons, jack boot thuggery and state sponsored violence bring up race.

The people who excuse the poor choices of individuals based on their skin color and economic condition also bring up race.

If “they” are both “they” who are you?

Mama givin it to her son who she idenified as a rioter… LOL

Excellent post. Absolutely disgusted when I see the typical response to this “well this is what black people do” or some other backhanded racist comment.

The actions of the people in Baltimore are horrific and deplorable and the President is spot on. Things won’t get better by attempting to act as if whites don’t have their fair share of dick headed moments as well.

As a white American I am disgusted by what is happening in Baltimore but don’t think comments like “ya don’t see white people rioting” do anything to help. It just divides us. And the fact that someone has to use the word them is very telling.

Neither, because I am not destroying a city or beating the shit out of anyone.

Why don’t poor white people riot ?

I would like to respond to your earlier answer to my question, that the last major sporting event was the Super Bowl, and despite the controversial ending, white people didn’t riot.

I agree that race should not be an issue when looking at these events, but it is getting harder to keep a neutral opinion when the shoe is starting to fit more and more.

This, the government is waiting for a 9/11 event to really crack down.

Do you believe the patriot act would have been allowed without 9/11?

Have to agree with you on this, it’s clear that government will do what it wants by hook or by crook.
Aragorn wrote:

I’ll agree with you on this except the “know good lawyers” part. That’s a part of the problem here–when somebody reasonably believes they can get away with shit because you don’t have money to hire a good lawyer or you’re relying on an overworked and underpaid public defender well…things don’t necessarily have to go so great for you.
I don’t have lawyers that will be able to get me off something I’m guilty of, I’m not OJ Simpson.

I do, however, know lawyers who would be more than willing to sue the living fuck out of the state if they falsely arrested me. And I know those that don’t charge if the case is good.

And no, if you have a criminal record, your case isn’t good. Choices have consequences.

I’ve seen what happens when southie cops drag you out of a bar (white guy) and take you for a “walk” down near the shore.

The amazing thing is, out of the three people there, he was the only one to get his ass beat.

I’ve had the cops show up in the middle of a fist fight, and seen what happens when you resist. I didn’t end up my head bounced off the street a couple times for good measure, cuffs or a court case. Others did.

It’s all about choices. I’ve talked to Cops off duty that it wouldn’t surprise me if some day catch a charge like those that spark this riot. However, I can’t say that I’ve ever met them with the uniform on. I assume I’m not just that lucky… But maybe I am. I’ve been fucked with, talked down to, harassed and generally treated like shit, but… I made choices.

Probably not.

Do you believe the government had already written the Patriot Act in hopes that an event would occur so that they could enact it?

Aggv, why hasn’t the MD National Guard seized Baltimore city?

What interviews/sound bites have you been watching? These are the words of the looters. When asked why, “they” blame institutional racism and the establishment for their plight. “They” blame this oppression causes frustration, and the frustration erupts into violence. I observe and listen to what “they” (read rioters/looters) say and repeat it. It’s not my social commentary.

I think it’s a family/poverty issue. And it just so happens to be more prevailing in… Certain… Communities.

Oh, is that racist? These are just the uncomfortable facts.

Absolutely, and they probably have all kinds of legislation written which is just waiting for the right time to enact it.
