Is the gypsy minority in Europe being mass murdered? Is 90% white, ethnically Croatian, Catholic Croatia mass murdering the other 10%? Is Iceland doing this? Are they going to?

That’s been done too. What also has resulted is violence and civil unrest when they’ve been forced together. So your notion that only homogeneous societies have mistreated others in their spaces is not the case.
I also face the unfortunate reality of there being no perfect society or one that is totally free of unfairness and inequities. At least I think it’s impossible.
I’m not definitely sure about that one considering I’m not a Republican, which I consider a liberal five years behind on so-called progress. I also stated people have not separated only for political orientation.
I’m not exactly sure how the US can be carved up. This thread was made for theorizing, even conjecture perhaps.

That doesn’t make any sense. For one: it would not be a civil war.
If we put all of the world’s people under one government, do you think that would decrease the chances of war? How would you envision your life improving if the whole world were to unite under one government?
And contrary to popular belief, globalism causes and exacerbates wars and makes enemies out of friends!
And while I’m hesitant to say any war is good (they all suck), that doesn’t mean that none of them have been waged for an actual solution when all else has failed!
You may or may not be correct about a red wave and states rights, but pointing to those things being supported by pointing to Roe doesn’t make sense. About 2/3 of Americans do not want Roe overturned.
Not saying it’s a rule, but it’s quite common. If there is one surefire way to increase the chance for violence, it’s secession.
As far as what I am… more or less the same as you. Used to identify as a Democrat, but the D’s have gone insane. Liberal/libertarian and think the size, role, and budget of the Federal government needs to be dramatically reduced. Balkanization is, to me, the nuclear option because I think it would lead to a civil war. The backlash against government intervention has been growing for a while now, and I’m optimistic that whoever wins in 2024 will have the majority and the mandate to do to the Federal govt what Clinton/Gingrich did after the D’s were blown out.
It is not only the Balkan states that have formed their borders on the basis of ethnicity. Of course, in many countries there are minority groups that belong to the ethnic group of neighboring countries, but these are few people compared to others. With the exception of immigrants from Asia and Africa, including their ancestors, the borders of most countries are formed by the territory inhabited by the respective ethnic group. In Germany, for example, mostly Germans live, in France - French, in Sweden - Swedes, in Finland - Finns in Portugal - Portuguese and so on. The break-up of Yugoslavia was a matter of time, as Serbs were the country’s leading ethnic group. Neither Croats, nor Slovenes, nor others in the federation wanted to be ruled by Serbs, but wanted their own state. The problem there and now exists in some of the former republics, as they have many minority groups that have remained within the new state but belong to another ethnic group. In the United States, I do not see how this separation will happen, because different people live everywhere. For example, it is not the case that only descendants of English people live in one state, only descendants of Spaniards live in another, and only descendants of African Americans live in a third, so that they can separate into separate states or states with more autonomy. In my opinion, this cannot happen in the United States.
By the way, in the Balkans, people are much more sociable with each other. Not only do they say hello when they see each other, but they often get together and celebrate even without having an occasion or a holiday. Especially in smaller settlements.
I bet at least 13 States are inhabited mostly by descendants of people of that State. The Declaration of Independence created Free and Independent States. The States each had: full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do.
Ok, that’s right, but since the topic is about Balkanization, which is given as an example of division, I wanted to clarify that in the Balkans and in Europe in general, the division of national borders is generally ethnic in most countries. But there is no doubt that there are European countries in which there is a certain division of society on the basis of other characteristics.
Well, so to speak - at the core We have not had a civil war, but we have fought against all neighboring countries in one period or another. Even sometimes with several at once. During the First World War we were allies with Germany. During the Second World War until September 1944 we were allies again with Germany. Then the communists come, make a coup and declare war on Germany, while we have no peace with Russia, the United States, Britain and other allies. And in practice, in the legal sense, we are at war with the whole world Great stupidity.
During the two World Wars we have almost no lost battle - maybe not at all, but we are losing both wars because we have always been allies with the loser. And they are tearing a lot of land with a local population from our territory. But we had no choice because we are a smaller country and 80% of our foreign trade relations were with Germany. Apart from that, we were a Monarchy at the time, and our king was of German descent.
In fact, in Europe most of the countries are very small compared to the United States, Canada and Brazil. They keep saying that we are small, but in reality we are bigger than 2/3 of the countries in Europe, we rank 16th out of 50 countries.
I think of Yankees(actual Yankees-New Englanders descended from New Englanders) as both, actually. Not that all are, but I think it until proven wrong.
@deyan I’m from Queens, one of the five boroughs of NYC, and I can sincerely tell you I hate NYC. That’s why I moved to Long Island, about an hour’s car ride away. I love the town I live in.
I consider most US major cities to be terrible. There’s plenty of content online to show you why. At one time all these places were good, but some declined to levels of squalor and violence likely no one imagined.
