I haven’t seen the posts/thread you were referring to, but I’m going to guess it’s somehow related to a follower of a particular coach on here
Lol, I don’t actually even know myself.
They’re HIT pullups so that they don’t interfere with the rest of my workout.
How can anything interfere with an HIT workout when they only last 14 minutes?
Mine last almost 1h30 so I don’t know ![]()

It was awesome to run that fast, especially considering I had to drag myself out of bed this morning (rare for me). I still haven’t had much of an appetite lately.
Feeling sappy right now I guess…
I’m not remarkably strong or fast. I gain strength at a snail’s pace, but I can appreciate where I am currently. My fastest mile was stupidly during a cross country 5k in high school – 6:21 if I remember correctly. Not terrible but not outstanding. Today’s time is much more impressive to me because even though as a teenager I played sport at a high level and was a mediocre runner logging tons of miles, I was weak as hell. I couldn’t do a single pushup, which was unsurprising since my strength training during those years was essentially nil. Then in senior year of high school to my early first year of college I fell victim to disordered eating, so I weakened further physically as well as mentally. It might seem like I rip myself apart here, maybe in my earlier posts, but I genuinely am a lot stronger inside and outside of training compared to where I was 4-6 years ago. Even during this pandemic, being able to train like this is one of few things keeping me sane.
To pull two plates for reps and achieve a sub 7 minute mile days apart feels pretty cool, like the epitome of 5/3/1. Still want to work on looking like I lift though, hahaha.
Yeah you’re really ripping yourself appart there. This is a really good running time! And two plates for reps… i mean come on you should be proud, these are no small feats!
I feel you there, I’ve had too many moments in my life like this one where the training is my favorite part of the day, which is sad. And I pour everything I have into it. But progress is still slow.
But progress is progress! You should be happy!!!
It’s probably a bit unhealthy because it can be taken away so quickly, though that can be said for many hobbies. I remember last year when restrictions were announced that I cried for a bit knowing I wouldn’t have access to any equipment. Weak, I know. I managed for about a month not too shabbily until I thankfully built up a decent home gym since then. I have nothing but respect for people who have seldom stepped inside a gym since this all began and just keep moving forward with super restricted training.
I have almost zero friends who train for anything, so they don’t understand why I put so much into it. That’s probably the case for a lot of people who post here.
Thanks. No worries, I am – that’s why I posted that ![]()
Meh I’ll always find a way to exercise one way or another unless I end up paralyzed from all four limbs but then I’d simply end it lol.
It’s probably unhealthy but right now the only thing I can do is to wait for the 9th of june to start my internship… Homeworks during the days, walks, being lonely (we’re still in lockdown) and that’s all! No job no girl. So going to the gym, breaking a good sweat and talking with the mates is a real bowl of fresh air/ muscular torture
I think I cried each time I destroyed my knees. Goodbye, fields! But now I’ve been so many times injured/out of the gym I don’t care that much. Strength and size come back, and in the meantime you can still exercise a different way, like maybe running!
Good ![]()
Ok, I missed a bit of your log, came back a week later and the first post I read is this. Are we still pretending you’re weak? Or have we caved to reality yet?
I found a way to train for that first month that wasn’t too awful. Only bad thing is I did some jumps on cement bricks as part of a warmup and ended up slicing skin from my leg so badly that I had to go to the ER to get stitches. I would post a photo but don’t want to gross anyone out too badly…
For sure… it’s tough to say the least. I can count on one hand the number of non-work, in-person social interactions I’ve had since this pandemic started. I don’t even like people yet I’m feeling it… hard.
There are so many ways I could counter this, but I will spare energy and your patience… and simply say thanks. I am still pretty happy about that PR anyway.
Doing awesome work and probably more importantly you are recognizing your own success, great job!

Easy stuff, now for a deload. I’m probably going to ditch the secondary lift in the next cycle, might go into a tiny caloric deficit. I’ll have time to figure that out over this next week.
