Bagsy's Training Log

I sleep poorly, in general, so I take OTC medication but the largest swings in sleep quality are definitely strongly correlated to stress levels.

How do you like the new bar? Will you be using it for all of you main lift squatting for this program?

Glad training is going well for you and that running is helping with your sleep. It’s a cure all for me—I’m only sorta joking. Hope stress levels decrease soon.

Sorry about the stress, it’s mentally catabolic. I sincerely hopethat you have someone thatyou can talk to sothat you don’t have to carryit all by yourself. Sorry about spaces, firefox on android andthe forum does this now…

I like it a lot. Squatting will never feel as “right” to me as deadlifting, but using an SSB alleviates that a bit.

Sadly think it was just a coincidence. I think it’s mostly sleep poorly for 3-4 days straight, then feel so exhausted that the 5th night is okay.

Thanks, appreciate that. It is what it is.

Sincerely hope you resolve your browser and forum issues!

Ended with a quick 6x200m session at the track despite my legs feeling exhausted even before lifting. I think my app is not so accurate with shorter distances, but they were all around :40-:45. The fall-like weather was nice, and I finished everything by 9 AM. Also, I decided to not wimp out and set my bench TM to 105.

I felt like I was moving in slow motion today. I’m generally in a weird mental funk right now, which might be it. I also skipped conditioning today and feel weak about it. I’ve been hitting that hard lately, so I’ll condition a little more tomorrow and not worry about it.

I realize not everyone is so fortunate and that I will sound entitled, but I am finally getting the first dose of the vaccine tomorrow. This was bothering me lately because I now know more people who have been vaccinated than not. Many people in my “bubble” got it in late Jan/early Feb.

Just move to a country with a shitty vaccination campaign, then you don’t have to feel bad about it. Over here we’ve reached a whooping 11% of people who had their first shot. I am one of the lucky chosen ones because I work in a hospital.

To be honest, that’s how I felt too. I got my shot yesterday which really makes the end of the tunnel seem dangerously close.

Just caught up on your Coffinworm work. Dude. You are strong, stronger than a lot of grown men in absolute terms, let alone in relation to your size. Congratulations/great job!
Wish I had more to say about stress issues, but I’ve been through so much last few years I think I might be immune now. I’m finding myself totally stress-free whereas I think a typical person in my situation would be freaking out.
Or maybe im just having an exceptionally good couple weeks :hugs:
Either way, great job, hang in there, train the stress away lol, and things will improve stress-wise.

I have some German friends who chat with me every couple weeks, and I must say it has been depressing to know of the slow progress over there.

People in the exact same position as me got the vaccine months ago simply because they frequent the medical campus here more often (only for logistical reasons). It honestly made me feel bad, as weird as it sounds. But I also think my city in general has done a poor job with distribution. Glad you got the first dose!

I think that’s a bit of a stretch but kind of you to say!

I really appreciate the words and hope you and your family are doing well.

Went for a 20 minute run. I noticed about 5 minutes into it that my app totally botched because at that point it said I had only gone 200m. So, I dunno how far it was. Not a huge deal though.

I am stoked to get the vaccine in a couple hours. I’ve been feeling so trapped the past year, and I’m really hoping I can go on a proper vacation later this year.

Oddly enough 40 meters/min is almost exactly my running pace.

Haha, no shame. Not that I’m the speediest person around, but being light helps as well as having done lots of running for over a decade. And that’s why I partially think I’m not a super strong lifter (yet, hopefully). I haven’t been lifting properly for very long.

Which vaccine did you get?

Yup, now that we’ve lost AstraZeneca for the under 60 year old age group, I fear we’re fucked even more. Ah well it’s not like every other part of the pandemic strategy is crumbling… oh wait!

I can’t lie; the situation in the UK and EU sounds scary, and this is coming from someone who seldom reads the news… still crossing my fingers that I can visit Germany sometime next year.

Yea, I ran more frequently when I was younger, think my best run was probably a 22 min 5k about a 8 years and 60lbs in the past. The weight makes an enormous difference.

I got Pfizer, which I’m happy about. What did you end up getting?

Also got Pfizer.

Woo, Pfizer fam! I took the day after my second dose off, just in case. Glad I got Pfizer instead of Moderna though, hoping the sides won’t be as powerful.

Why?

Getting my second dose on a Friday… hopefully won’t spend too much of the weekend feeling crummy. I’ve heard stories of gnarly side effects in young people. Oh well, it is what it is.
