Don’t question it. Just because other things aren’t going well, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve your training to go well.
beautiful deads
Nice deads! Just don’t forget to push your knees out.
Nice deads, nice grip…
I usually don’t like to presume that I know someone solely based on internet interactions, but you’ve made it pretty clear that the only way you want to impress the guys on Tnation is with your improving squat and deadlift form, and by adding weight to your press. ![]()
No worries, I didn’t get that impression.
I’ve actually never been a huge technique stickler (and still don’t think I am) until people here made me suspect that is what holds me back in my squat. I think my interactions here have been valuable. Though I do this all mostly to impress myself, not anyone else ![]()

Squats moved faster than expected again, even if they look more good morning ish now. I knew it would be a good day when 130 felt light. My runs were a touch slow, but I also haven’t been running on a track lately.
I decided I will deload after this training week even though things are mostly going well. By that point it will be 9 weeks without one. I’m mentally beat up and already know my schedule will be a bit weird soon.
Squats looked and moved great, you’re doing awesome.
Are you following a program? Or just slowly dialing up intensity and back volume? No criticism, just curious. Seems to be allowing you to express some strength!
Thanks! Yes, I’m following a StrongFirst (Pavel’s group) program called Reload. I think I’ll switch to Coffinworm next but not 100% sure yet.

I think I’ve come across as more meticulous than I really am
I assure you that I am mostly jesting ![]()
I’m laughing even harder watching it the second time.
That accent though… ![]()
@Bagsy just be happy you don’t have a horrid hip shift like me
A few years ago I had an obvious lateral pelvic tilt. I should try to find a video of it.
I used to get a hip shift squatting with the bar, idk about now.
I’ve tried doing single leg work, mobility, drawing lines on the gym floor to make sure my feet were parallel, I squatted barefoot…
never helped
I sometimes do half kneeling hip stretching, but I think sleeping with a pillow between my knees made the biggest difference.
will try
been doing this since I was as long as I can remember
Maybe you are uneven. Skeletally🤷♀️
Possibly? My mum’s right leg is slightly longer than her left
