25 reps with 135 is a lot! Glad you’re feeling more confident.

Looks like you’re putting in a lot of work each session!

The weather was so nice that I decided it would be good to get outside at lunchtime. I wasn’t pushing myself too hard but enough to feel like I put forth some effort. That on top of this being in a neighborhood with mixed elevation rather than a track made me fairly satisfied with the time.

As almost always deadlifts are feeling the best right now. I am happy with the speed off the floor. My belt is broken it better each time. I’m glad I didn’t get a bigger size after all because I’m on the 7th hole now.

Slow but not too ugly I think. This makes me feel that I can handle 145x5x5 next week.

You can. No question.

Squats look improved. A different angle would determine this better but to me it looks like your feet are angled outwards excessively in relation to where your knees are actually going.

Are you kidding me? Those squats look really good!

nice squats.

however, there might be something going on at the right foot, have you tried to do a few reps of the airplane roll before squatting, works wonders for my feet and hips before squatting. first two reps also a tendency to butt wink but i guess your mobility improved as you got warmer. but nothing that should hamper your progress to 5x5 at 145 imo.

I’ve been playing around with things slightly, so I’ll try to get a better angle next time. I’m definitely not creative in that department. It’s not unlikely that I’m doing something weird.

Well, that’s a first hahaha

There are so many opinions on butt wink online. I have never experienced any pain from it, truthfully.

Care to take a video from the back or front? I remember from one of your old deadlift videos that your knees cave in. I think it’s worth exploring in the squat

Bench was tough today. After the second set I was taking lengthy rest periods. 160 is already light on deadlifts, but it feels even lighter lately. I felt a bit beat up so I didn’t push the dips very hard.

I did my taxes yesterday and to my astonishment found out that my return will be more than my monthly paycheck. I’m definitely going to save most of it, but I think I’ll be treating myself to a new phone. Throwing around the idea of buying something for my gym, maybe a kettlebell, but still need to ponder that. Meanwhile Titan still hasn’t shipped my SSB…

I recently picked up an LG Stylo 6. It was the most cost effective option at the store ($250 vs 800-1000) and it’s a decent phone. I have to restart it like once a week and force close apps on occasion, but the price difference was worth that for me. Depending on what you need out of a phone it could be a good option to balance phone and a gym toy without going crazy on the budget.

Appreciate the suggestion. I’ve already got my eyes on a Pixel for a couple primary reasons: to (mostly) de-Google myself by installing a more privacy-oriented OS and to take advantage of the great camera. Though your recommendation’s camera specs don’t look awful either. I’m terribly frugal and can sympathize with your not wanting to spend much on a phone. Fortunately the Pixel 4a won’t break the bank, either.

I think rogue has some loadable kettlebell setup that looks pretty cool, need a decent amount of small diameter weights though. Sucks about the ssb, everything came faster than they said for me. You reached out to their customer service?

I’ve poked around some websites and have seen adjustable kettlebells as well as loadable kettlebell handles. But maybe these options are more pain than they’re worth? Not sure.

I was probably too optimistic because I read how a lot of people online purchased the SSB on backorder and received it 3-4 weeks sooner than expected. I emailed customer service a couple weeks ago, and they said it should ship around March 6th. So not long now, but it would have been nice to know since that’s a month after the expected ship date.

I have a pixel 4a, love it. I spent the first 6 years of my smartphone life with cheap phones. Decided to spend a little money on a decent one and I do not regret it. I beat the hell out of my phone’s, and they get wet very often and I haven’t had one issue with mine. My fiancee actually dropped her 3a into 6-7 feet of water, without a case, and the phone stayed on the whole time. I dove in and grabbed it, and she was still on a phone call.

I use the camera for taking pictures of wiring diagrams mostly so I can’t vouch for the quality of photos… Other than I’m able to zoom in very close.

I really wish I had known about that phone at the time, haha. If you look at the dimensions the Stylo is massive comparatively. That’s my biggest gripe is that I can barely fit it in my pockets. Battery life is legit though.

It sounds like you need a fanny pack in your life…

I’m glad to read that! Every smartphone I’ve ever owned has been a Samsung Galaxy, so it will be interesting for me to make the switch.

I have a high-quality camera, in many situations I am not able to bring it along. So, I still use my phone to take pictures most of the time. Unfortunately I feel that the best photos I’ve taken with my phone reveal too much information about me, but maybe these will help explain why I’m such a phone camera snob:

Yea, they definitely seem like they’d be a bit of a pain to deal with. The alternative is very expensive though, unless you can find a single weight that allows you to do enough. I’ve pondered going both routes but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I know nothing about photography, but those look great, I do understand now why you’d like a good camera.
