My wife once gave me a kiss with bad breath (IMO smelled how old people’s houses smell). I told her it smelled like old people. It didn’t go well for me.

welcome to the club
I turned 24 a couple weeks ago. But I am physically 12 and personality-wise 80.
This “be your own cheerleader” thing is going well, I take it?
Why? Doesn’t look like it when you’re lifting.
I agree. Take it from someone who actually gets mistaken for a 12 year old
12 is a bit of an exaggeration, but I am often mistaken for a high schooler. I think I look taller in video than in real life.
Easy to solve: just lie about your height in real life.

Ugh, used the belt on deadlifts today. It was nauseating past 5 reps, though I don’t think I’m wearing the belt too tight, and that made pushing myself almost unbearable. I was mad at myself, so I did another extra 5 reps shortly afterwards. I think I’ll get used to it eventually. Because of lots of snow sticking, I skipped the jumps today.
I don’t think I’ve done anything too self-deprecating lately…
Positivity regarding your self-deprecating nature, love to see it!

@heretolog I’m looking forward to moving on because I don’t think it’s going super well. It’s normal for me to hit PRs only a couple times per year, but I think I’ve fared better on Brian Alsruhe’s programs or 5/3/1.
i usually skip those.
I think they’re a big reason why I’ve never had shoulder issues, and they don’t take long to do.

Surprising because I slept poorly the past few days and in general haven’t felt the best. No, the reps do not look good. But I am pleased with the depth and the fact that it felt like my legs did at least some of the work. I wouldn’t have been able to say the latter a year ago with heavy weights. Several years ago I squatted 140 for 7 or 8 reps beltless but even more squat morning than this. I’m still very timid as you can see in the video, but I’m proud of this because once I hit 135-140 it’s such a battle to not be physically and especially mentally crushed. Of course the belt helped a bit, as I am getting more used to it now. But still. I was so giddy with myself when I reached double digits that I think I cut the set a bit early.
I skipped jumps again because of winter weather. Oh well.
Fuck yeah! Looks like the change of pace with the program really worked for you ![]()
Realistically I think it was mostly the belt ![]()
Nothing to do with years of consistent training, no?
Absolutely not! After all, that it would take me that long to do this is laughable.
We need a sarcasm font I think.
