What’s your goal “look”, if you have one?

Good question. I’m not really into the whole perfectly symmetrical bodybuilder look. Generally, I think some of those who compete in Crossfit (maybe not the super top athletes), sprinting, and strongman have admirable physiques. Powerlifters not so much, though some exceptions are there. I don’t think most female lifters would mind looking like Jen Thompson as they age.

I think my legs lag in both strength and aesthetics :disappointed:

Yesterday I got a nice chest freezer so today I could pick up a 1/4 cow from a local farm. I think the people who drove me there think I’m a little crazy, but my wallet, conscience, and health are thanking me!

How is your squat form coming along? Noticed any improvements?

Freezer full of meat looks great, so does your V taper. Nice work.

Calisthenic movements are great. Can’t say I’ve ever pushed em in a special way for being bodyweight movements have just threw on weight until it matches up with what I need in terms of getting bigger and stronger.

I’d go dip belt over weight vest because for the weight u can add on its cheaper and more top end weight. Most I’ve seen a weight vest hold is like 30-40kg. There’s plate loaded ones but at that point it pretty much a dip belt because you use plates.

@tj55 It’s tough in a caloric deficit because nothing feels good, but I feel like by lowering the bar a touch, the load feels a little less like it’s crushing me and that I squat morning a bit less. I feel like I’m using my legs more. So I don’t think I can say it’s good, but moving away from my previous ultra high bar stripper squat

@dagill2 @simo74 I totally recommend it. It was a bit more difficult than usual not because of a lack of farms by me but because COVID spiked demand for bulk meat AND freezers.

@guineapig Maybe you forget I’m a woman and likely will never need that much additional resistance, haha. I can barely do 12 BW dips right now. I’m not opposed to a dip belt, but my dip bars at home aren’t very tall. Plus a vest is nice if you want resistance for something mobile. Good points though, I’m very frugal, so a better price point is enticing

Y tho? Do u need to reach high shelves or take long strides to run fast?

Think about how much shorter your rom is on squats and deads than the talls!

@guineapig Well, yes, those things can be annoying sometimes. But it also exacerbates my problem of perpetually looking like a 12 year-old

@heretolog Unfortunately I’m long-limbed, so I can’t say squats are my friend :upside_down_face:
