Bagsy's Training Log

Good. Keep not logging! Don’t track your pushups and pullups either. Use fitness not as an object of pursuit but only as a tool to blow off steam. It’ll all be here when you’re ready to get back into it.
You may need to say “no” to a few other things in life too. Its hard, but can be freeing.
Good luck, hang in there!

Glad to hear from you, sad to hear about your struggles. I hope you find a way to destress very soon.

That is a familiar pattern for me and something that - ironically - takes work to fix/ improve on. You’re no stranger to that and I’m certain you will be able to attack that in due time.

We all appreciate the update there @Bagsy take all the time you need. An extended deload and decompression will do you the world of good I’m sure!

@Bagsy wishing you all the best dude. MDD is tough, but I’m sure you’re tougher. Also, I hope you’re getting to sleep pretty consistently well. That helps a lot - way more than we think

Hope you’re doing as well as you can!

I went to a show after my backpacking trip, had never listened to them before but Tommy Lefroy are pretty solid. Definitely on the “sad girl” side of indie rock but worth checking out

Okay, I decided to come back now. Thanks all for the support.

It’s been a rough few months – tons of work, a couple of trips, stomach flu, and really just too many things on my plate. I also didn’t take much of a break from training after my last post. Just a few days off and several easy days. I’ve been training (lifting and running) since then but not on a program. I also battled a terrible bout of plantar fasciitis, which I had never had before. It still comes in waves. Collectively, these ingredients are not a good recipe for progress. But that’s okay because I was just trying to survive.

So, I survived but unfortunately got a bit weaker. I guess not by too much because I was never very strong in the first place, but stress, not following a program, and (presumably) weight loss contributed. I haven’t taken a deload for nearly three months now, so I decided to take it easy for a few days starting today and then jump back onto a program. I think I will do the TB program “Fighter” again with an optional third day for things like loaded carries and other things I often neglect. Still running quite a bit too.

Dunno exactly when I’ll start again but wanted to write something. I hope everyone who reads my log is doing well, and I look forward to catching up on everyone else’s progress! :innocent:

Glad to hear you’re back. Hey theres a t-ransformation thread again this year, interested in joining it for accountability?
Coming off of injury and deload is a great position to start it in.

Thanks all for the words. For now, I will temper my expectations for 2024. I got another stomach bug to start off the year, but I’m planning to start a program again tomorrow. :cowboy_hat_face:

Pull-ups 7,6,6
Front squat 95x3x5
Press 50x4x5 (beltless)
BPA 3x20
Standing ab wheel 2x5

Half-marathon in two hours

Started very light on the weights and very slow on the running, but I nevertheless had to slog through both of them. I definitely am not over this stomach flu/bug, which has discouraged me from eating or drinking much over the past couple of days. I still feel nauseous and don’t even have an appetite as I type this.

What’s more is that I worked side-by-side yesterday for a couple hours with my advisor, who tested positive for COVID this morning. I don’t think I would develop symptoms so quickly, but I’m not going to lie: I felt short of breath quite often today, and I feel a bit off. Is it because I am dehydrated? Is it because of my mental state on this day? Who knows! Maybe all of the above.

So, it’s back to business as usual in my log. :skull: :cowboy_hat_face: :joy:

I don’t know if cake indicates your join day or your day of birth but happy day, in any case!
