Today sucked, and I needed to do something tonight to blow off some steam (yes, fight stress with stress). This morning I attended a training session to work with rodents, and I will simply say that it was not it for me. I don’t know how I am going to manage. My phone’s screen also decided to break randomly, and I’ve not yet found the time to set up the new device. Very #firstworldproblems here, but everything has been so much lately. Aghh.
My partner studied ketosis in rats, really really didn’t like portions of it! Seemed very understandable from the descriptions

Respect! My study will involve rats. They’re nicer than mice, which I had to handle this morning. I still very much doubt my ability though. Honestly, I’m a little traumatized. My friend asked me to watch her dog from Friday until Saturday night, and while I am hesitant about it for several reasons, I simply don’t want to think about animals right now ![]()

I just asked her, to confirm, and she said it was both mice and rats. Also added “it made me a vegetarian” and “I had the weirdest dreams of my life that summer” lol
She’s normalish now though, so you’ll be alright
I think I “have to” because it’s an emergency. I would normally look forward to it, but yeah, there’s this, and I have to finish preparing a report for work, for a language exam, and to leave the country soon. I am going to lose sleep from this dog, and I might have to spend the night at my friend’s place instead. ![]()
Oh jeez, definitely not encouraging me! Honestly, I think I’m going to have to tell my advisor that I cannot do it. It’s too repulsive. Seriously, I respect anyone who can handle rodents.

15-minute run
After a hellish time thanks to a delay spent yesterday at an American airport that shall not be named, I am back home. It’s been disorienting to say the least. I might even say that I am experiencing some culture shock here. I can’t express in words how amazing it was to feel so assimilated there. I’ll be in a good position to move abroad with my degree(s) and C2 German certificate. I still have a lot of work to do here, but it’s something on my mind.
Here are some (unedited) photos from the trip. Now that I have more free time, I want to edit all of my photos and set up a website to try selling prints, even I only make a few bucks.
Well, back to Real Life. I am happy to dive back into training and a normal routine, be in my own apartment, and see my friends, but that’s all. I got my heart rate up a little bit today, and it wasn’t too bad, but my feet hurt a bit. Walking 25-35k steps per day for two weeks can take its toll.
I’m going to start something new tomorrow. I’ve been reading some Tactical Barbell stuff recently and think I’ll give it a try.

I’m definitely out of practice; everything except the press was heavy. That’s okay because I really needed a long break. My sleep schedule and appetite are also abnormal as expected. I’m a little bit leaner than when I left despite being detrained. Happy to lift stuff again! Conditioning tomorrow. I’m excited to see how I respond to TB.
