Set a timer for 15 minutes: carry 85# sandbag and do a set of pushups every time the bag is dropped. The extra fifteen pounds made a big difference here. I accumulated 46 pushups and topped those off to 50 when I went inside.

To be honest I am craving a little bit more volume, so I might switch things up when this cycle is over. But I don’t dislike OLAD, either. It is nice to literally focus on only one lift a day.

Congratulations or condolences.

Honestly, neither. Firstly because the difference is not huge and secondly because I am not gung ho about training and such right now. Losing a couple pounds would be nice after stuffing myself for weeks, but that will probably (and maybe it already is) happen without me trying so hard. Intentional weight manipulation in either direction demands too much effort from me than I want to exert right now.

TLDR; trying to get a little stronger over the next several weeks, and losing a couple pounds would be cool. Not really a goal or anything though.

Not brutal – baby weights here. More or less the whole time, the only break being between switching sides.

A small five-pound PR. Damn, really thought I had the third rep on that last set. I guess I should be pleased with this given my current general apathy toward eating and lifting as well as how my belt fits.

Not to be too much of a downer and go off on a tangent, but I do think at least a couple years of my hard work in the weightroom have not yielded much return. It’s normal for me. Sure, last year and this year have been a little bit better. I don’t attribute my current apathy to this, though it always looms over me. I believe in hard work over time, and yes, I do think that the work I invested in Deep Water a couple months ago is showing. However, more days than not I don’t have hope for my overhead strength, for example.

That 230 x 3 looked about 84 times easier than 235. I imagine if you’d taken 235 first that 3rd rep would have been there and pretty cleanly, too.
