I wanna know about the baddest lifting music, the stuff you lift to, the stuff you listen to and wish you could lift to while it’s blastin…
I have the luxury of deciding what I listen to when I lift, but I lived in a cave most my life so I need all yalls to clue me in on some gooood shiiiiit.
Here’s my fav to date:
Anything by Rage: fistful of steel, kill a man, no shelter, calm like a bomb, renegades of funk, bullet in your head, etc.
some by Tool: aenima, parabola, undertow, etc.
some by Godsmack: voodoo, etc.
some by Prodigy: smack my bitch up, etc.
Anything by Blackalicious in which Giftogab raps heavy: clockwork, chemical calisthenics, blazing arrow, etc.
And the techno song from Snatch (discoscience/mirwais) is poon.
I particularly like heavy electric techraprock or some shit like it.

and Moby… it’s that bitchen song from the Matrix where they shoot the shit out of that lobby when rescuing Morpheus, which makes it cool.
Hope that list helps ya out. Most of it is metal/hard rock with a bunch of punk, and I have a soft spot for a little country too. Rap doesn’t usually do it for me, but Zebrahead is a punk/rap band that is pretty fvckin cool to listen to (mainly punk).
Holy cow, I can’t believe nobody’s mentioned anythign by Pantera. One day I’m just gonna walk into my gym with a boombox and blast “Rise” in the middle of ME Squat training, consequences be damned
If you’re into punk music… its really hard to beat anything by Propagandhi… also “Full Circle” from Pennywise has gotten me through many EDT workouts…
I agree with the Pantera comment too…

. . .
Now tell me how it be.[/quote]
Hrm. There’s really only four things I need to get my lift on.
Conan The Barbarian, Soundtrack
This one is so underrated. But I guarantee, this will pump you up like nothing else. I had a friend give it a listen while he was working out. . . it took 3 weeks before he gave me my CD back, because he said it was the best lifting music he’d ever used. [Note: the sountrack for Conan the Destroyer is almost as good.]
Black Label Society
A lot of people aren’t familiar with this one. BLS is Zakk Wylde’s (Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist) band. If you want to know what it sounds like, imagine placing a couple of Ozzy CDs, an old Megadeath CD, and a White Zombie CD into a bag with a case of beer. Then imagine beating the contents of that bag to a pulp with a giant clubbell. What you then pulled out might sound something like BLS. In my opinion, hands down the best new metal band in the past 5 years.
Motorhead
What needs to be said about Motorhead? Lemmy is a metal god, and this is the original in-your-face, kick-your-ass music.
Pantera
The ultra heavy classic. They’ve been in my lifting locker since Cowboys from Hell.
There’s a few others that I work in, too, but that makes up about 90% of my workout music. Particularly the first two, Conan and Black Label Society.
DISTURBED is the BEST! Down with the Sickness rocks. And I can’t believe no one mentioned Linkin Park - Meteora. There’s also a good hard rock CD of WWF wrestler songs called Forceable Entry. ROCK ON!
Priest, Hands down the greatest metal of all time! Check out “Painkiller” title track, Betweent the Hammer and the Anvil and Night Crawler all great moitivators assured to get your blood pumping.
Check out Bad Bains Quickness, good hard core!
