I wanted to let anyone that cares know, My mother has been diagnosed with luekemia. the world sucks pretty bad right now, but some of you are like extended family to me so I thought it apropriate to share. I’ll be on hiatus here most likley, this is still so fresh that I’m not even sure how I am going to be effected by it.
My father is not doing so well with it, and I am very close to him, so I’m feeling a lot of his pain right now. I guess for now my sanity point will be to stay as strong as I can for him, so he can be strong for her. Fucking crying just typing this out.
Anyways, I’ll try to keep some medical updates going here if anyone is interested. If it feels like its helping, if not, I might just be gone for awhile. [/quote]
Good luck to your mother and best wishes. Just remember Leukimia is a far slower moving cancer than most. My grandfather was diagnosed with it almost 20 years ago. Now in his mid 70’s he still lives a very active life. I hope your mother has the same sort of experience with it!
Unfortunately, my cousin was claimed by luekemia in 2008 after a 3 year battle. She was 25. My aunt (moms sister) has put us in touch with all the right people and she has a vast knowledge of the entire experience. They had to learn it all on thier own but fortunately she will be with us step by step.
Sorry man, I know how it feels. My dad had a cerebellar stroke 4 weeks ago. You have friends here. Let us know if you need anything, we are certainly thinking about you and your mom!
I’m sure this will become your family’s, and your, primary focus as you get information and begin treatment. I would recommend using this forum (not just this thread in particular) as a way to take a mental break now and then – I might be saying this for purely selfish reasons (I love your wit, what can I say??) I will keep a good thought for your mom, your dad and you.
Terrible news man but you’re not the only one who’s going or has gone through this.Life sucks balls sometimes, just keep trying to live life to the full and go the extra mile for the old pair.
Hey man, Not really too close with you or any member of this forum yet… But I’m really sorry to hear this. I hope everything turns out okay. Hang in there bro, I’m sure you and your family will be in a lot of prayers.
Sorry to hear that, Veg. I don’t have anything original to say but just wanted you to know that you/mom will be in my thoughts. You guys can get through this.

Hi V,
You don’t know much of me but I do sincerely wish you and your family the best. It looks like you guys already got into contact with someone about it, but if you need any other helpful contacts from people in the field PM me. I can at least forward them to you.
