I think that 700 he did a couple of weeks ago was too close to the meet

Was the meet officially named “BACK YARD” meet or was that the OP giving it that moniker?
Seems kind of odd that Super Training gym, Mark Bells gym right, would run a meet that was “bad”. I wasn’t there so I won’t comment on the running of the meet.
…what? It was an SPF meet. It wasn’t just a gym meet, it was sanctioned. It has been called the “back yard meet of the century” by a lot of people, partially because a lot of the competitors are lifters from SuperTraining gym.
I was super disappointed Spoto didn’t hit it, he should have opened way lower then he did. But when he does his next meet and opens lower, he will hit it. He has the power for it easily, just needs to be smart.

From what I heard, this was a very poorly-ran meet.
I competed at this meet. It wasn’t poorly run, there were just too many entrants for a single platform meet. Last couple of years there have been like 2 full flights and another bench only. There were something like 65 people there this year, which is just too many to get through in a reasonable amount of time. And of course like every other lifting meet I’ve been to, it didn’t start when it was supposed to start. With that many lifters you need to start at 9am sharp. Not 10 which turns into 10:45. I was in the last flight and was squatting at about 12:30pm and deadlifting at 9pm. Not optimal but I eked out a 5lb total PR.
