Backyard Meet of the Century

What for? He just wants the WR, he’s not getting a total, benching 700 would mean nothing there. And 3 attempts at 716 are better than 1.

This made me sad.

Missed his 3rd

Missed his third. I was a little disappointed that none of them really seemed like an honest pause, although the audio was a bit off with the livestream. Dude right before him on the 3rd flight got a major Christmas present.

I think he will get it in the future with more experience.

It was too jittery for me to assess his pause. I lost audio too.

Psychological impact of trying for the WR on your first attempt?

Yeah I was wondering about the audio disconnect as well. Made it seem like the judge was waiting an insanely long time to give the press command.

To relay what Tim said - yeah, he didn’t lock it out; not even close.

CS

Here is the link if you want to see it:

He lifts at like 15, 29, 40 minutes

First one is a quarter second pause, the last 2 touch and go

just posted on Face book - 4 flights of squats, 5 bench, 4 deads and they are in 2nd flights squats at moment. Think Spotto and Efferding etc must be in last flights
That is fucking retarded. I was under the impression that this was some kind of exclusive, invite-only deal.

lol yeah… lasted 12 hours…

From what I heard, this was a very poorly-ran meet.

I hope the big names got some cash for their trouble.

Was the meet officially named “BACK YARD” meet or was that the OP giving it that moniker?

Seems kind of odd that Super Training gym, Mark Bells gym right, would run a meet that was “bad”. I wasn’t there so I won’t comment on the running of the meet.

I watched from the start until Spoto failed his bench. After all the hours I waited that took the wind out of the sails. I thought this would be like powerlifting’s olympics. I was wrong.

How did Lilliebridge and Efferding do?

Edit: Just saw Eric’s vid.

2,121lbs raw total w/ my 2nd attempts - YouTube
Efferding bombed… opened with 903… on squat… couldn’t get it… probably hurt his back… yeah…

Wow, sucks about that 903 squat. He hit it easier than his second attempt then fell backwards at the top.

Yeah Eric feels that, if he had just went with the depth he normally squats to, he would’ve got it cleaner
