Backed Up, Lost Weight

Hey guys so Ive been bulking for around 8 months now. I went from 6’2 145lbs to 6’2 190lbs of mostly lbm. My training was going pretty good, Im not expert but I felt happy with the gains I was making. However, im still far from where I want to be in terms of mass, but there has been a slight problem.

Apparently my diet has lacked enough fiber, as I am currently backed up as of 2 weeks ago. Im still pooping multiple times a day but i guess its not enough. Anyways I feel nauseous constantly and have no appetite. I went from eating 3500 calories a day to struggling to get in 1000 over the past few days. I have lost 7lbs already.

My questions are is this weight mostly fat? And also will i regain it relatively easily? I would appreciate only helpful answers, I’m already aware of the fact that I’m an idiot for neglecting the proper amount of fiber. Thanks guys

Without getting too gross, here’s what’s going on:

Basically, your digestive system has gotten use to it’s normal work capacity being what you ate when you were 145 pounds. When you drastically increase the amount of food you consume, you also drastically increase the amount of work your digestive system (specificaly your GI tract) has to do on a daily basis.

At first, you’re system is going to struggle to keep up, and getting “backed up” is a symptom of this. To help combat this, make sure you eat a TON of fiber.

In your specific case, I would go get some laxatives to help you “get over the hump” so to speak. Just give it time, because your system will adjust eventually.

If you are pooping multiple time a day why do you think your backed up?

If you have been bulking for 8 months why do you suddenly think your over working your digestive system?

After looking back through your posts about “coming off a 8 month bulk” and “cutting a little fat” I am thinking you did this calorie restriction on purpose. Now you are looking for someone to pat you on the back and tell you its all fat?

Get on a real cutting diet that doesn’t make you feel nauseous. I wouldn’t let a 100 pound female cut her calories down to 1000 per day in am attempt to lose weight.

Here is your “Cut a little fat” thread from last week where you don’t even mention this problem.

How odd?

I am 4 weeks in, just starting a diet with carb cycling. Although my goals are not in bulking, I am on a weight loss plan, I am still having the same issue with being backed up. I have tried adding metimucil, but I will just say it was a horrible experience. Any other suggestions?

@jlone, I can see how you would think that. Def is a weird coincidence. Unfortunately this isn’t a cut, rather a health issue. It started with a crappy feeling in my stomach and some bloating, hence the increase in lower belly fat I noticed last week. I wish it were a cut as I would have implemented cardio rather than not eating at all and puking in the mornings to lose the fat. I just hope I don’t lose much more weight. I’m def gonna continue my bulk once this gets better. Hoping to get to 205 by end of June.

psyllium seed husk. I take 4 caps twice a day and that along with fiber from almonds gets me pooping lovely.
