Just do snatch grip dead lifts off a 4 inch block.
IMO they are harder than squats and have added tons of mass to my physique.
This is a powerlifting forum. I don’t know why anyone who would advocate a ‘replacement’ for squats would even be posting here.

are you locked into a contract at your gym?
if not, what does ‘looking for a gym’ really mean? you keep talking about it like you can’t get the names of ones in the area online, call them, and then visit the remaining contenders to find the cheapest/best option within one night after work.
x2 it’s not hard at all

There is no substitute. You don’t do split squats, front squats, or power cleans at a powerlifting meet. Either get to a gym with a rack or never gat any stronger than you are right now.
WINNAR!!!
I’m not looking for an excuse. I live in Barcelona and powerlifting gyms are not really common. If you know where to find one it would be helpful. At the moment i’m doing zercher squats and i really like them.
If only powerlifting gyms had power racks I doubt anyone anywhere would be even decently strong. I mean I train in my damn basement and I’ve got more equipment than your gym it sounds. No substitute, if you really can’t find a gym with a power rack which is unbelieveable, than order yourself a rack, olympic bar with weights, and a bench and train at home. Will save money in the long run.
woah that steinborn lift or whatever it was, was AWESOME!!!
How long without a rack? Wendler made a spill about training without a rack, but while I use his suggestions, I would be looking for a squat rack to use.
Any Update on a good gym in Barcelona? I am going there next month and will need one. I appreciate all help!
