Back Pain

I’ve been seriously training for roughly a year now after a layoff of a few years. About three times, I’ve had to avoid my back-training day since I seem to wrench a spinal erector or something (doing pull-ups, usually). Is this injury a result of under-developed back muscles? If so, what can I do to avoid this seemingly recurring injury?

I was in the same boat a few years back. Doing ab crunches and roman chair hyperextensions really helped my lower back. I do wide grip pullups without a problem and deadlift 300+ without a belt now. Hope this helps!
