Tuesday; 4/25.
Squat, ham curls, bench, pulldowns. Who cares how much…it’s all I did.
I found myself staring out from the gym area, into the pool…watching people swim. Watching, people, swim.

I did about 30 mins of pushing around our BS spring snow this morning (at work); most I’ve done all week.
Went in Thurs, warmed up squats to 3x3@ 185, and a couple empty bar sets of bench…that’s all. I did spend some quality recovery time the past two days; very high quality (and there was shopping too).
Anyway, Sunday should be 60*and sunny (typical Denver); good day to lift some weights ![]()
Heading home soon, be back Tues. for a post-meet wrap up.
No big plans, just 3 PR’s including the elusive “first 400+” pull.

Tuesday 5/2.
Meet wrap-up. The short story is; hit PR’s on SQ and DL, missed 3rd BE attempt.
Here’s the numbers:
SQ: 303/ 341/ 369. 33 lbs meet PR.
BE: 242/ 264/ 281 (miss). Should’ve had this, but mucked it up.
DL: 341/ 385/ 419. 28lbs meet PR.
A 55 lbs meet PR, figureing in the missed BE. Videos Weds night, when I’m not using a tablet ![]()
Host gym was pretty cool; lots of room, equipment, and well run by the couple putting on the meet. Great job all around.
About the BE: scoring/announceing folks, skipped me on my last attempt; I stepped out and said “hello”…a friend also went to judges to clear it up, only took a few minutes. I still went in order, but I’d lost my focus…touched to high on my chest, got jammed up…couldn’t dig it out. Stalled 1/2 way up.
So be it; I had a fair shot, and missed. I was upset for about 5 mins, then moved on.
Squat and Deads both felt the best ever. I hit both 3rd attempts, and wanted a fourth !! I’d say they were 8 of 10, on the ‘effort scale’. Wouldn’t be surprised if I had 30+ more on each, left in the tank. They really felt that dialed in, at that moment!!!
Congrats on the PRs! Too bad about the BP we all know you had in you! Looking foward to the vids.

Congrats on your meet performance. Two meet PRs trump a bench press. Great experience.
