Tuesday 11/24; 12 days out.

Meet Goals (as of last week).

SQ= 300
BE= 250
DL= 350
Total= 900

Training: 11/24

DL: Worked up to 2x1@ 335. Mis-loaded the bar; pulled it anyway. It was fine.

BE: Paused 2x2 @ 255.

Last heavy SQ Friday.

Looks like you might be selling yourself a bit short on both the deads and the bench on your meet goals. If you were able to pull 335 for two singles you will be good for more than 350 and obviously if you got 2x2 paused at 255 you should beat 250 on meet day.

After your openers I would let Kpsnap help you with your attempt numbers. She has seen enough meets to be a real good judge of where you should be. Good luck.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate your thoughts. I knew I’d have some ‘wiggle room’ with bench; DL number was a surprise but I’ll take it.

Friday 11/27: Last Heavy Squats…

Warmed up well; feel good with my set up, walkout, bar path and depth. Worked up to a 1@ 295 (no belt), then 2x1 @ 325 (with non-legal belt). Lifting without a belt at the meet; still feel good about hitting my goal of 300 for squat.

Openers for 2 or 3’s on Tuesday, lift something Thursday to stay loose…and that’s it. I may lift in my singlet Tues; or not.

Original goal: 300/250/350= 900. Room to work in the bench of course; a little with deads.

Openers (ish): 265 or 275/ 245/ 285 or 295…to OCD to know for sure. Finalize these on Tuesday.

Hey. I’ll help you with your numbers. You pick your openers and we can even adjust those, if necessary, before the start of the flight. I’m pretty good at calling numbers:)

The schedule is supposed to be finalized tomorrow. I believe you will be in the morning session on Sunday.

I’m going to try to get your sleeves passed, but I don’t think your belt has a prayer. Belts are purely psychological anyway (power of positive thinking). Text me if you have any questions.

So I’m 5 days out…and bored as heck!
A trip and working extra shifts left me training less than usual, leading up to the meet.
A little extra rest is fine, but good grief.

Worked up to openers Tuesday: feel pretty well set with them. In the spirit of “start low, nail it, get on the board ect…”

SQ: 250/ 260. Yup, that’s it. I know me, and I know I’ll be nervous and excited; bit-o-stage fright. Gym max is 290, no sleeves/belt, 4 months ago. Meet goal is 300. I’m confident.

BE: 230…Gym max is 265 4 months ago. Meet goal is 250: I’m gonna press over that for sure. Confidence is high.

DL: 275…Gym max is 335 2 weeks ago. Meet goal is 350. This is my big finish for sure. I repeat: Confidence is high.

Sunday 12/6/15

Meet Day.

In a nutshell, I had a blast. A couple bumps here and there, but overall, a good time.

Weighed in at 182 lbs.

SQ: 253/ 281/ 303. Opened light, stayed that way. 13 lbs. PR from gym.
BE: 225/ 253/ 270(miss): Opened light again…I was crashing here; energy/emotionally. Over-reached and missed it.
DE: 275/ 297/ 336: Truly left weight on the bar here; I had re-grouped, but took two small jumps (hindsight). A 1 lbs. PR from the gym. That’s right, 1 lbs.

My pal Karen was great, other lifters, Dan and jenn who ran the thing; everyone was as cool as I had hoped.

Probably lift another meet in July. Onward and upward.

Well thanks everyone, I truly do appreciate the support.

I HAVE enjoyed some ‘recovery meals’…is that what 3 days of steak and eggs is called? No rest at all really. Did light ‘pump’ kinda work Mon/Tues; little heavier Thur/Fri. Already have December planned out, and pretty sure of where the new years training will be headed.
Working in Brute squats, close stance back squats, SGHP, mid/high incline presses…
Pulled up to 5x2@275 (meet opener) Friday; felt alright.
Onward and Upward.

Trying to get the volume back up; Dips, Chins/pullup, OHP are back…slowly.

Pushing SQ stance a bit wider, bench grip as well, just to feel it out.

Past week:
SQ= 3’s @ 265
DL= 3’s @ 275 (con and sumo)
BE= 3’s @ 225
All felt alright. Patiently working back into volume/ higher %.
Not much else to report.
