Its really hard for me to write anything about this man. I love him so much.
He married my friends mom when I was 9-10. She had 6 kids. None of them his. The oldest boy had seen new “dads” come and go. So he wasnt “his” dad. He single handedly made Grays life a living hell for years.
Gray just kept on being the best step dad he could. To me too. In the end, Gray won. He beat us all down with his steadfastness.
His spirit his contagious.
Ive got to go cry now.
All my prayers and positive energy coming Grey’s way…
Went to see him. When I get there daughter is there. She said they confirmed it. He was laying in bed. As he began to tell me he got a little sad. I started to cheer him up, and before I could say anything he speaks up “The Doctor say if I can beat this I can lift again”. The first thing this guy wants to talk about is lifting!
Havent posted with all thats goin on. So ill try to catch up.

63G- Good to see you back. Nice workouts all around. Bench is always strong, but the 180x15 on the seated military really caught my attention. Nice work!
Talked to Gray. He wasnt feeling well. He had his first chemo. I asked him what the Dr.s had said and he said nothing. That is a problem for me. I talked to his Daughter, and she said they werent talking to her ether. So at this point we dont even know his prognosis.I got on the phone and checked into other facilities. Turns out there are a couple local Hospitals that the Cancer Institute recommends. Well see.
OK. It was actually 14 3/4. I couldnt QUITE lock it out.
This will be a test of your inner strength. I send you all the positive thoughts I can. I pray for your friend, he sounds like a true survivor and a man that never gives up. Such a lose would be felt through out the force. Please let him know there are many praying for him.
Saw Gray yesterday. He looks good. He feels ok at best. He said he cant stop going to the bath room. His spirits were high especially when he asked about training!
Bench
10xbar, 10x95, 10x135, 8x185, 6x205, 5x275p, 3x315p, 5x340p on last, 3x365p on last. Had some trouble locking out the last rep. p = pause.
63G- Nice work. I’m glad to see you keeping at it through all that is going on. It can provide a needed reprieve.
Also, as Streamline said, make sure he knows he is in the thoughts and prayers of many that haven’t had the pleasure of even meeting him. Brothers nonetheless…
I have my son put a 100lb plate on my back.
I think what Im gonna do is show this thread to Gray if he comes to Church tomorrow. One thing this has effected is what I type. Theres so much I want to say on all yalls threads. Just down a bit.
I appreciate yalls understanding. Its real hard for me. Emotionally I mean. Sometimes I’ll type something and just cant submit it. I cant help but think of him, and every time I do it gets tough.
Squat day (Mon.)
Well it wasn’t much, but I did get a PR.
10xbar,10x135,8x225,6x315,3x405PR.
Depth was good. As a matter of fact Mikey said, “Dang uncle Lonnie your getting some depth”.
Was that squat raw? If that’s the case, I’ll have to go back and review the deal we made, because you seem to have clobbered 405. Drat!
Good work, G, and hang in there.
Well yes and no. I had an Inzer on. But I did not have the straps up. I think the way they work is mostly through the straps. And I can tell you this: an Inzer ant no Titan. In other words they’re kinda thin. Like real tight undies.
