Back in the Chase

I never could do that. Once I leave a work out it’s over. Good looking numbers.

Oh yeah, I forgot Dips
1 x 20 x BW, 1 x 15 x BW.

Not sick yet!

I kinda wish I hadnt gone back. Im feeln it now,to say the least.

I need to give in and start squatting again, I just don’t have a training partner for it. You’ve made me think.

If you have a power rack, you can use the safeties. Whatever you do when your by yourself go slow and be careful.

Yep, those squats will put you down in a hurry when you’re by yourself. Great workouts Galaxy, you’ve got great partners.

If you can, video your lifts and post them somewhere so the good squatters on the forum can give you feedback.

Speaking of squats…

Squats
10 x 135, 10 x 225, 5 x 315, which is sort of a PR. I hit parallel. Never done that before. Move up to 405. Pull it out of the rack, set up, move down, every things going well. Then I make my mistake - instead of keeping my head up, I look in the mirror to check depth. You guessed it I went forward. I was able to rack it though. Back to 405. Pull it out, try to set up a little differently than normal.

Try to short step out of the box. Get crooked. Have to reset. By now Ive spent some gas. Here we go. 5 x 405. Now heres the thing, I asked how my depth was and JimmyT said I was about 2" to high. But Ill take it. Ive never got that low before.

Deads
10 x 135, 10 x 225, 4 x 315, 5 x 315.

Bike for 10

3 laps in the pool

Oh man. I’m toast.

Get the raps at least. They do help. After that the tips on your log will help. When its all over you will be much heavier than me.

Light Chest/Shoulders/Tris

Bench reverse grip
10 x 95, 10 x 135, 6 x 185, 6 x 225.

Seated Mil.
8 x 165, 8 x 205, 6 x 225.

Machine seated mil.
10 x 170, 8 x 190.

Some kinda funky shoulder thingy, I guess it would be a butterfly.
2 x 10 x 70.

Plate raises
2 x 10 x 45

Tricep extensions
10 x 85, 6 x 100

Press behind the neck
2 x 10 x 95

Decline nose breakers
2 x 8 x 95.

Bike 10min.

Good work! I’ll have to try the funky shoulder thingy later this week. Probably fit in well with the rest of what I’m doing.

Today during squats I wanted to quit several times, but I couldn’t, knowing how far you are ahead of me.

HAHAHA! Its some kind of a machine. Never used it before. Kinda different.

Gotta slow him down a bit. He comes out of the rack like he’s going to fight a fire! Solid work 63!

Yeah, slow down! You’re wearing me out trying to keep up.

Just got back from the gym, and Im stoked.

Youve got to remember, Im an equipped bencher. Its not that the shirt does the lifting, but at our age we tend to be banged up. The shirt keeps my shoulders in place, so I can push. And if you dont have a shirt, get some wrist wraps. It takes the shock out of the bar.

As far as the squat, GET YOURSELF SOME WRAPS. When you put them on so tight you cant feel your feet, youll squat more. Period.

Niiiiice pressin’ 63! I’m guessing that 365 is a PR - yes?

Ive got it before. It was months ago and I had to take off. But what Im real excited about is how easy it was. JimmyT said he felt like I had 380 for sure. Another fella in the gym said the same. Actually, I half paused it. I started too and thought “JT might think Im stuck, and take from me”. So I rushed it a bit.
