Back/hip injury

I think I pulled/iritated my sacro-iliac joint. It hurts a bit when I bend over real far. I have no trouble standing, walking, sitting, sleeping. It’s really just when I flex. I probably pulled it while lifting a stone, although I only noticed it 24hrs later. Anyhow, anything I could try to speed up recovery? Thanks. Greg

Does it also hurt if you bent backwards? I wish I could order a new back. Heh.

Reverse Hypers.

I’ve had limited success with ice, rest, and anti-inflammatories for back injuries; I’d say your best bet is to find a good chiropractor.

It’s not so much pain, as it is tingling, and it feels weak. Bending backwards is not a problem. It’s not a spinal/disc problem, it’s much lower, maybe 1" under belt.

Greg, I had a similar injury several months ago when I tried to deadlift too much weight after a long layoff. Another case of “goring the flounder!” Anyway, I did LOTS of back stretching, reverse hypers, and regular hypers. Gradually, I worked in light good mornings and deadlifts, concentrating on good technique. It took about 2 months to heal up, but now I’m already getting close to my old strength levels. Needless to say I am bumping up the deadlift weights SLOWLY this time. Good luck with the rehab.
