B-12 Injection

A buddy of mine said that he injects B-12 every once in awhile. He says it lasts for a week and it give you endless energy. Here’s my question, what would an injection of B-12 do to me? How much would I do? I have a fight in two weeks and I’m thining about trying it, the energy would be helpful. Is this safe? Thanks.

You’ll piss it out, it will do nothing. They give B-12 injections to little old ladies that are who a anemic (sorry bout the spelling) and that take cuma…? a blood thinning drug. It won’t do much for you but if you feel you really want the B, go to a store and get a capsule. I just think that it’s cool to pee highlighter yellow when you have a large supply of B vitamins in you…funny. Save your money. Where are you fighting?

B-vitamins are (along with C-vitamins) water soluble. Hence the reason you will just be “pissing” them away.

Better to make sure your nutrition is up to par - as in, eating enough carbs in preparation for your fight. Injections are only good if your deficient. Save your money - as Krak suggested. And I also ask, where are you fighting? What style? MMA, boxing?

B-12 is injected in people who are deficient because they have lost the ability to absorb the molecule from their GI tract, due to their stomach ceasing to produce something called intrinsic factor. Vitamin B-12 is the oddball water soluble viatamin in that you can store tremendous quantities of it in your body. In fact, each healthy person has about a 20 year supply in their body, before they start seeing deficiency symptoms (pernicious anemia). So, you shouldn’t worry about B-12…
