Avocado Fats

A quick question…

I eat 1/2 to 1 full avocado every day with steaks or chicken etc.

It’s been suggested that is far too much to consume on a regular basis and whilst the fats are non saturated - they will have an adverse effect (make me fatter) in the qty I consume.

I only eat this much because I think it’s good for me…

Your comments are appreciated.

If I got my numbers right, an avocado has about 30g of fat. That’s 270 calories, or less than 10% of your daily caloric intake.

Who is telling you this, and how could such a tiny amount of fat in the grand scheme of things make a difference?

A personal trainer actually. I don’t use his services - I just know him as a mate.

I started eating one before bed and have the best sleeps when I do. I’m not worried about having a six pack though, as much as just getting strong  I think there’s more good in them than bad, depending on your diet goals, as they are high in fat… I’m curious if they do help with my sleeps because of the fat or if it’s just in my head
