Avatar: Legend of Korra

Indeed - highly impressed with the thought process, and honestly it could definitely be a possibility.

he combined them all

Episode 9 is coming out in a few hours! I’m really looking forward to seeing Korra in the Avatar state. Heck, we saw Aang in the Avatar state during the very first episode of TLAB. Whats taking it so long?

She cant airbend. How do you expect her to consciously enter the avatar state?

Aang entered it against his will, and it took him the entire series (literally) to be able to control it. Avatar Roku spoke of it taking him years to master it. Its gonna be a while before Korra can do it.

This is of course assuming they follow the rules they set up in TLA, but they probably wont. Shit, beginner level benders and nobodies are bending metal and lightning, supposed advanced techniques.

What I mean is I’m waiting for her to accidentally ‘slip’ into Avatar state and start blowing shit up without being aware of it.

Considering she is more violent in nature compared to Aang, I’m willing to bet her ‘uncontrolled Avatar state’ is going to be twice as awesome.

But yeah, I think its a little disappointing to see how noob level benders are able to do higher forms of bending. I mean, a factory full of fire-benders using lightning bending when even Zuko couldn’t do it… sheesh…

Yeah, but I bet Zukoh is an amazing firebender by now.

Ah, fair enough, I understand you now.

And yeah, its still a great series, but Ill admit I am a stickler for things like that, if you establish the rules (you must be an extremely advanced bender to generate lightning, only the greatest can do it or redirect it i.e. Ozai, Iroh, Azula, Aang, and Zuko) but then change them for shits and giggles, then damn it man, why even make the rule?

The Equalists fighting technique (chi blocking) was also quite rare as well in the original series. Metalbending was created in the first series. If I remember right, Iroh was the one to invent lightning generation by watching water benders. A relatively new techniques like that, of course people thought it was only for advanced benders.

You have to remember that people used to think some of the things you learn in high school were incredibly hard to learn.

Time has passed, people in the show have learnt and adapted.

Correction, Iroh learned how to REDIRECT lightning by watching water benders, it was implied that lightning bending had been around awhile.

sorry mak, but iroh created the re-directing (if u can call it that) of lightning. not the lightning bending.

i agree that the benders are newbs though. come on, u got the avatar, a “master” air bender and metal bender(who’s also the HEAD of the police force) and you can’t defeat a few robots. and the equalists seem to take down ANY benders so easily.

i think that instead of learning air bending, korra should learn some kung fu like the equalists. probably do her more good.

*metal bending is a new technique, ppl just never thought of bending metal at that time. so it may not actually be an “advanced” technique. but lightning bending certainly is. you don’t see any of the fire nation soldiers using lightning. but there are random dudes working at a power plant bending lightning.

Episode 9 was holy crap good.

It was and now I have even more questions.
How did Amon avoid bloodbending?
Is he a bloodbender?
What was/is Tarlock’s purpose?
Is Yukone connected to Amon and Tarlock?
Will Asami turn on team Avatar?
How did Amon learn to energybend?

It looked like Amon sort of fought his way through it.

This is a shot in the dark, but I think Amon might have learned energybending from that super secret library/owl spirit guy from season 2.

Im trying to think of a way Amon is connected to TLA but I just cant think of anyone who could be related to him.

SPOILER

Looks like the predictions were right. For once we see an episode where Korra doesn’t get her ass kicked by Equalists.

Well didn’t Tarlock want to get revenge on republic city for what aang did to his dad?

I really hope Amon convinces Tarlock to fight along side the equalists.

Solid episode. The series is getting better, and for once we finally saw Tenzin go all actual airbender master on some equalists.

and his kids are fucking awesome.

He seems cool, but it remains to be seen.

For how great this episode was, I cant wait for the episode writers to somehow expect us to believe that equalists are as powerful as trained soldiers.
