August '19 Photo/Video Check-In

Okay my update !!!
First week of June I officially decided I was feeling overly taxed out by powerlifting and I wanted to start losing some weight.
June 9th I weighed 136.6lbs
Today I weighed 128.2lbs !!!
Very happy with my progress so far. I have just cut back small amounts of things every so often and I have been consistently losing weight every saturday when I check in.

I think ultimately I’d like to be around 125lbs, but I’m not in a huge rush. Even a pound a month at this point is enough for me to feel accomplished because I’m pretty happy with where I’m at already .

I’m still squatting a lot and am not upset with my numbers at this point so good things all around !!

Officially 33 today! Going to be a good one :blush:

Me (profile pic) at 25 pounds lighter than my last pic. Arms coming in nicely, not on others levels maybe but being 6’3+ I use my height handicap proudly!

People just have to get up close to realize our arms are big.

Filled out very well. Up in the 6’+ range can look stringy/lanky even up in the higher weights.

I was 165 at this height and a higher BF%. It took me 8+ years to look “normal” at my height, and another few years to look borderline impressive while flexed. This is me before my workout, obviously flexed but not pumped. I get told I look “fit” and “athletic” all the time but unless I’m mid-upper body workout, nobody comments that I’m BIG. And @Frank_C is spot-fucking-on…if I see myself from far away I REALLY don’t look big at all. Disappointing outcome with years of hypertrophy-based training, but let’s be honest - I didn’t know shit about lifting or nutrition for most of my time.

What do you weigh?

Solid mass always looks better. A few guys I knew that were at 6’4 and 6’6 without lifting definitely looked “big” in that there was no missing them in a crowd, but just tubular, even at 240-250. Just a lot of weight in their legs and midsection. The one guy at 6’9 was the same at 275.

Of course at 5’9 and a lean 160 or so, standing next to them I looked like a little kid.

200, on the nose. I thought that was emaciated at 6’3 when I was 230+. But I went from 225-200 and my arms look bigger because they’re more cut. I just had 25 lbs of fat sitting on a modest amount of muscle. Scratch that, 40 lbs because I could lose 15 more pounds and REALLY cut up. Cutting sucks, not only because you can’t eat as much as you want, but (for me) because you find out how much muscle you REALLY have, which is almost always less than you think you have.

We are about the same height and I’m ~10lbs heavier than you. Ive come from 230-210 in the last 8 months, but hit the brakes since June 1, dude to ‘life’

Last couple years have been rough though, and the last couple of months almost didn’t happen. I started cardiac rehabilitation on Thursday last week though, and have my next session tomorrow afternoon.

Some days I can accept this fate; others bother me. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with looking lean, fit, and athletic, but some days I still confuse it for skinny.

It’s no secret that I like the CrossFit Games. I’ve started following Fikowski. Dude looks tall in the games, but he’s only 6’ 2". I see him compete and train and I think he looks great. Why can’t I see that in myself?

It’s going to be more realistic to compare myself to someone like that instead of The Rock.

Soooo with a pump I look great, but here, I look like a skinny kid. Only thing saving me is my back, even though it is unflexed here. Time for some MASS!

everyone wants something they don’t have. I look like a wide bulky fuck at times and I’d just want to look leaner and more athletic. people will say "nah man you look great’ and I’ll be like “no!!! I need to be leaner, like that other dude there!!”

it’s the way it goes I guess.
