Have any of you guys tried any of the Atkins foods like Pancakes, syrup, breads, etc.? Theyre sold at GNC, among other places, and are reasonably priced. Any good?
I’ve tried the pancake mix…it’s pretty good. The pancake syrup is a little watery, but the flavor is decent. The muffin mix is also okay, but the serving size is too small, so I still feel hungry after I eat them.
Not sure if you have Trader Joe’s near you, but they have some good lowcarb products…especially the flax seed tortilla chips (regular flavor…NOT the nacho cheese variety) and the lowcarb bread.
However, as a long-term lowcarber, I eventually moved away from replacing “real” foods with lowcarb versions. I save the carbs for cheat days.

Thanks. I’ve never heard of Trader Joes, but i’ll look into it…
Just watch for excess soy and sugar alcohols. Alot of those in packaged low carb foods. The Atkins ice cream is really good though I admit, but it’ll put you on the potty all day if you eat too much!
ditto on what davo2 said, and also watch the glycerin they use in the bars and other ‘Atkins’ type products. It can be converted into sugar by your body.
Some people really get slowed down in the weight loss department by eating the bars and other foods with too much sugar alcohol and glycerin, but because it’s all ‘acceptable food’ with low net carbs they get fooled into thinking that the diet isn’t working, when in fact they just need to stay away from that stuff.
My experience was that when I ate the bars and other Atkins foods too often, I would maintain weight but not lose any. The only Atkins products I still use are the syrups (to flavor Yogurt as a treat) and the muffin and pancake mix, which I like a lot. Buy the stuff online, as you will save a ton of money over GNC.
