Artificial sweetners and Massive Eating

I have been using the massive eating program for two months now with great results. I was wondering if there is any reason to avoid artificial sweetners (aspartame, sucralose, etc.) at fat + protein meals? Due they cause enough of an insulin rise to make a difference?

Artificial sweeteners will not make a big dif unless you abuse them. each packet contains some maltodextrin but it’s only like 1/2 a g of carbs. Certainly your protein in the meal will give you about 100x the insulin response of a packet of sweetener. However, if you’re like my buddy who when dieting, mixes up a shaker of sweetener and cinnamon and POURS it on everything in sight (and sometimes just pours it into his mouth for a “treat”), then you get into problems.
