I’m curious, have any of you tried Nutrasweet, Equal, or Splenda in plain oatmeal? I love the regular stuff, but it’s so BLAND!
Strawberries spiced it up a bit for awhile, but they’re not in season and it’s still not nearly as nice as the (admittedly bad) premixed packets. I compensated with a load of brown sugar, but that totally defeats the purpose.
Any thoughts? Perhaps suggestions to make the other old standards better, like the mention of lemon juice in tuna?
Mix some chocolae GROW into your oatmeal. Just let it cool a bit before you mix it in. If you don’t want to add protein to your oatmeal use the Splenda
Try nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla/almond/lemon/orange extracts (watch the labels), yadda yadda. Go into the spice/flavorings section of a supermarket and grab something that sounds good!
Eric beat me to the punch. Sugar free syrup in oatmeal is EXTREMELY tasty. I can’t wait finish up this cutting cycle in a few weeks so that I can start eating this stuff by the bucket again.
I use Nutrasweet (Kroger generic) all the time when I want to sweeten up foods. All the taste, none of the carbs or cals…oh wait, what about the brain tumor its supposta cause…wink, wink…

Equal actually makes an artificial brown sugar sweetener.
it comes in a small brown box…i have used it before and really like it…keep in mind however, you need to still calcuate from the perspective that each equal packet has approx 4kcal with .75g carbs…you start adding those up, and they need to be calculated on any strict diet regime
Vain
Like the others, cinammon, honey, whey, berries, heck, even a tiny bit of low sugar fruit spread if you need it. I put oranges and bananas in too and mash it all up.
For those of you who live on the wild side, and still eat pro/fat/and carbs together, add a scoop of natural peanut butter with that chocolate grow. Damn that’s good.
Try cooked oatmeal in a blender with all kinds of stuff. I use oatmeal, banana, protein powder, cottage cheese, water and ice, or instead of the banana I use applesauce and cinnamon. Cook the oatmeal in the microwave and then put in the freezer to cool before blending. I make a blender full and drink half then and take half to work to drink 2-3 hours later.
